Dr. Christopher Stanke, MD

No Thourough exam.

First called for an appointment 4 months ago, rescheduled twice, after the second call I said was seeking a second opinion. I was called to confirm 48 hours in advance, called less than 24 hours before the appointment to cancel, as "I have been treated." I cancelled. So much for a second opinion. Not recommended.

Dr Stanke is now in Eugene, Oregon. I was in for a colonoscopy. The nurse was asking health questions regarding gastroenterology. When I told her I often had debilitating nausea, she suggested I talk to Dr. Stanke about that before the procedure, in case he wanted to do anything else while I was under sedation. When I did, he said, “Deal with it!” I was shocked. He persisted in being rude and dismissive, saying he wasn’t giving free advice when I was there for a colonoscopy and again, “deal with it.” I told him the nurse had said I should mention it, and told him that when I was a therapist, I never would have told a client to just “deal with it.” If I hadn’t already completed the disagreeable prep process, I would have left without the procedure. I had to suggest to him that he simply could have asked me to come in for an office visit for any other problems. I can say that all of the rest of the staff were courteous and professional.

In my experience, it isn't often that you are able to pinpoint times in your life that have a life changing impact on you. This is definitely one of those times, and I'm grateful that I was able to recognize it so easily. Dr. Stanke is the first doctor that has really taken the time to go over all of my symptoms, what I hoped to achieve from treatment and also offer options that weren't necessarily pharmaceutical in nature. I attribute this completely to Dr. Stanke and his stellar care.

I would recommend Dr. Stanke. He was very professional and addressed all of my concerns. It was evident he is very intelligent and knows a lot about his expertise. I really appreciated his advice.
