For my first visit, Dr. Applegate was 2 hours late. I thought I had advanced Lyme's but she told me we didn't have Lyme's in MO. Should have walked out then. She misdiagnosed me with MS, so I wasted valuable time researching that. After an MRI I was diagnosed with hydrocephalus. I wrote this to her 'Growing increasingly frustrated & concerned that further damage is occurring. In your opinion, am I a candidate for this procedure (Endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV)) or is that a question for the neurosurgeon? ''Do not worry or sweat the day to day stuff. The damage occurs over months and years. The good thing is you agreed to have the MRI and now we know that you have hydrocephalus and we will get this taken care of. Do not worry. We have time to get this done' She referred us to a pediatric surgeon in St. Louis!, and numerous other unhelpful referrals. We located a surgeon at Cox in Springfield who watched me walk & said 'You needed surgery yesterday'She should be fired!!

I love Dr Applegate!
I love her directness, confidence & professionalism! She is compassionate and cares about me; she takes the time to listen and interact, and she is determined to help me & daughter get better & defeat out migraines caused by a car wreck.

Doesn't care and was wrong about everything!
It's been well over 20 years since I saw Dr. Applegate. At that time she straight up told me to my face I was a hypochondriac. As a result I was left untreated for DECADES. Until I moved all the way out of state and was connected to a REAL neurologist who knew what they were doing. So now, a mountain of meds and TWO BRAIN SURGERIES LATER, I can tell you to absolutely never NEVER trust this "doctor". She will happily let you suffer!

Unlike so many others, I liked Dr Applegate, however, I had an MRI over a year and a half ago and still don't know what the results were. No point now, I called numerous times and left messages, after 2 or 3 months someone finally answered, said they weren't getting their messages and couldn't see any point in getting it fixed as they were moving. They assured me they would get the nurse, have her talk to the Dr and someone would call me. Of course, no one called. Of course, I was charged for a MRI with no results ever given to me.

I just read all these negative reviews and I can see some truth in what they say. However, I have been to her several times with excruciating headaches and yes, her bedside manners are lacking. But, I'm convinced that she is highly professional and very qualified in her field. She's a straight shooter and doesn't mix words when she has something to say. That's my kind of doctor, to the point without sugar coating things. If I wanted someone to just hold my hand and sympathize with me, I can get that from my friends. I would and have recommended her to others.

Dr Applegate was my mother in law's Dr. When my mother in law was experiencing horrible pain Dr Applegate ordered no test and said the pain was all in her head due to her Alzheimer's. My mother in law passed away 4 days later from Sepsis from an intestinal blockage. The woman should not be allowed to be a Dr!

I arrived early and was very quickly given about an hour of brain wave tests by an associate for a suspected seisure problem. I was very pleased with Dr Applegate who spent more time with me than any other doctor I have known and was appeared very intelligent in her explaintion of my problem. My wife who was with me commented that Dr Applegate was absolutely great in her opinion and has recommended her to several friends and I am of like opinion. I am 79 and have had over a dozen doctors over the years. Mountain Home AR-Feb 2020

Her bedside manner is lacking in every possible way. Said my car wasn't worth what migraine injections cost.. Wth?? I have trigeminal neuralgia!! And can barely get out of my house... Compassion is not her strong suit. Wow I waited so long and prayed for help.. I am a patient, not a criminal

I was warned about her, but thought there was no way what I heard could be true. Now I know it wasn't the slightest bit exaggerated. This wannabe psychiatrist ignored my irrefutable spine and nerve problems, diagnosed and operated on by a neurosurgeon. Instead, she dug deep in my personal life under guise of small talk, said I have no physical problems, and wanted to assess me for a schizophrenic disorder because she says I have no reason to be experiencing pain, said it's in my head.

Very poor doctor. I waited for almost two hours. After proving my 30 years of symptoms and suffering, through past medical records, she states my symptoms of multiple sclerosis are all in my head. A pulmonologist referred me to her, due to diaphragm paralysis. She refused to test me and accused me of self-diagnosing. I tried to go over my symptoms with her again, and she snapped "I do not want to hear your symptoms again. I am already late." I continue to suffer under doctors like her. Stay away

I was seeing Dr Applegate because I was having left sided weakness, tachycardia, headaches, shortness of breath, & hyper reflexive reflexes for about two years. After examinations She treated me with great disrespect and told me I needed psychological help because there was nothing physically wrong with me. It turned out I had a tumor in my heart and was having mini strokes for at least two years. I had to Have open heart surgery and MRI confirmed the mini- strokes. What a terrible tragedy!

She overbooks her patients and sometimes you have to wait 3-4 hours to see her. She can also make you feel like an uneducated idiot depending on the type of day she is having. Very untrustworthy and does not take your pain seriously.

Doesn't really listen to the patient. Doesn't thoroughly explain the issue or the treatment. Seems to treat the patient and caregivers as if they aren't capable of understanding or of asking what she considers important questions.
