Collen‘s bedside manner at all he sat writing on his paper, never cracked his smile and didn’t really comment on previous medical information that I shared. I’m sorry I drove that far and I will not be back.

Has you set on no more than 8 minutes per person
No time even if you have real concerns, he is very dismissive of what they might be.

Never got to see him.
I never saw the doctor. I arrived at 7:50 for my 8:00 appointment, one person already there. At 8:35 I left because they had yet to call back a single patient for treatment. There were 6 or 7 in the waiting room at that point. At 9:07, I got a call - 'where are you?' Find a more efficient office that respects their customer's time.

Although I was seen too immediately since I was the first there for an 8am appointment, nothing was done even though I drove 2 hours to get there. I have a kidney stone that's been affecting me since Sept 2, had a stent put in Sept 3 & discharged Sept 4. Was supposed to do a follow up consultation to setup a surgery date but in his own way said "we can't do anything until you get insurance" HCA Florida Memorial put this stent in me to help & now I can't get it out because I can't get on insurance. These people need to be held responsible. I pay taxes & taxes pay for services like hospital care. If they'd just remove the stent & kidney stone, I'd find a way to pay it off, one way or another. I hope someone reads this & is able to help me.

RUDE !!! No bedside matter.
Would not let me speak. Just rude throughout the visit. Did care what the problem is. EVERYONE considering him as a doctor run away. Don’t waste your time or money. Some people are never meant to be doctors. I learn the hard way.

getting a second opinion is a good thing!
Appointment with Dr Collins was a second opinion. He seemed confident that he could help my bladder issues (self-cathetering for almost a year after a TURP). Unlike my previous Dr, he listened, did a cystoscopy and ultrasound, then a few weeks later did an aquablation on 12/19. It's now several weeks after surgery and I'm absolutely ecstatic that I've got 90% of natural function!! Very very happy!

Disappointed
He certainly has no bedside manner. This was my first cystoscopy with him after years with Dr. Homra at the Lomax office. He introduced himself, did the cystoscopy, briefly described what he found and left. He seemed hurried. I discovered I had been diagnosed with stage 2 chronic kidney failure only through the notes left on the McIver patient portal. Neither he nor anyone else at McIver contacted me to tell me what this meant. I've been going to McIver for many years but am considering moving to another urologist. I don't care for the way I've been treated recently.

No follow up
Dr Collins Express the concern and gave me a referral to do a 12 hr test ... I had to drive 30 miles to pick up the test kit. I then returned the test kit as directed. When I had a follow-up appointment, he had no idea what I was talking about when I asked for the results. I never got them after three phone calls and two visits. He had made the order for the test but had no idea what I was asking about.

Incompetence at its finest! ZERO STARS!
Dr. Collins's office at McIver Urological is easily the most incompetent group of people in all of Jacksonville! They've somehow taken a 100-year-old urological practice and driven it into the ground. I'm a Jacksonville native, and McIver has always been at the forefront of urological care, but how things change! I rarely write reviews, but this seems like a public service announcement that needs to be shared... The staff at the Lomax office are inconsiderate, rude, narcissistic, entitled, untruthful, deceptive, and money-hungry. That pretty much sums up how they are destroying Dr. McIver's legacy one patient at a time. If you want your time wasted, your health jeopardized, and your patience tested, go ahead and give McIver a whirl. Run for your life, literally.

Dr. Clinton Collins
My most recent experience was going in on a check up from a procedure I had which of course was a “thumbs up”. Actually this was at Dr. Collins‘s advice and I took it and this was a great game changer for me. So anyone that Dr. Collins takes care of is very fortunate due to the fact that he is very sincere and I love his humor! I truly do feel he looks out for the best for all of his patients and I’m very confident and happy he’s my urologist.

Dr. Collins is an excellent urologist. Not just because he’s good at his craft. But because he took me as an emergency patient with no insurance — and has worked with me consistently to make sure I got the care I needed through multiple surgeries, because I couldn’t get insurance until enrollment!! That alone my friends is HUGE.. He also doesn’t rush, always answers all my questions, even when I ask the same ones multiple times. ?? He deals with my anxiety, he is ethical, honest and realistic. If you are looking for a good urologist, he’s your guy! You wont regret it.

Dr. Collins is an excellent urologist. He is patient, answers questions thoroughly, and is consistently on time unless there is an emergency. After a negative experience with another urologist, he has been a blessing to me. He is not pushy about possible surgeries and offers less invasive treatments. He is honest and realistic. You will not regret choosing him for your urologist.

I would not recommend this doctor, he didn't show any interest in reading my chart or hearing my concern, This was my first visit with him and he didn't even read my chart on procedures I had with previous doctor at mciver that was no longer there but had retired. He looked at tests results my primary doctor sent to him and said everything ok without even checking the urine sample I had given i had to ask him what was the results..I was very disappointed..

First, I want to say that the staff was pretty good and have been helpful, they made a couple mistakes but those were only minor things. As for Dr. Collins, I had a kidney stone diagnosis including CT scan from Baptist hospital, he told me I had an enlarged Prostate and pointed out a poster in the exam room for a Urolift prostate procedure and said I should consider it like he was a car salesman trying to sell me the undercoating then he ran for the door and I had to catch him to ask a couple questions. After having an Ultrasound at his request, the second visit he made no sense, he basically said he couldn't find the stone on my CT or Ultrasound. I had to ask the staff for a copy of his notes so I could try to make sense of what he said. The thing I disliked the most about him is that he didn't explain my situation in plain English and acted like he was late for a tee time and needed to get out of the room. I'm searching for another Dr. right now.

Major Pain – Oct 23, 2020
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Collins?
Dr. Collins bedside manner can be rude and dismissive. He continued to prescribe a medication to my mother that he knew was not working but insisted she continue to take it. Mishaps with the office staff and lack of pre-op instructions caused my mothers procedure to be delayed. I tried to address these issues with the office manager but could not get a call back from her. Leaving messages with the surgery scheduler was also a toss up when getting a call back. So I attempted to speak with Dr. Collins directly which did not go very well. He huffed and rolled his eyes while I attempted to speak with him about these issues. He talked over me and shut me down before I could even explain what was going on. In the end, the procedure did not work for my mother and I will not be taking her back.

Arrogant, attempts to overtalk you as the PT. Over 2hrs late for scheduled appointment then gives all kinds of excuses as to why. Didn't perform procedure as we had discussed prior to surgery, then he disappeared without speaking with my family nor myself about his decision. Wouldn't be giving 1 star if it weren't for the fact that I have to in order to leave this review, I would not recommend this him to treat a dog much less a human being. Do yourself a favor and avoid this Clinic and it's so called professional employees.

I saw Dr. Collins about 2 years ago in Jackson MS. I was having severe constant pain, urgency, and frequency urinating. He actually asked me which one I wanted him to treat! He diagnosed me with overactive bladder but did nothing for the pain. His treatment didn’t help but after still searching for help I found another doctor who found me with IC (internal cystitis of the bladder). I’ve always wondered if Dr. Collins knows what IC even is. Definitely don’t recommend him!
