Resident Dr ,Dixon countermanded orders of her attending physician, by discharging a patient with an infected, reopened , packed-open surgical wound. The attending physician, with the patient and wife a Sunday discharge date that conflicted Dr Dixon's weekend plans. She discharged the patient on Friday to drive 280 miles home. The wife/caregiver, was not consulted or taught to change dressing. Neither. The local clinic nor home health were contacted. The 73-yrold patient has been left to care
