Excellent Dr
Dr Plakas operated on me yesterday. I was in extreme pain I saw him late October and couldn’t get an outpatient surgery date I’m til December 12. He was worth the wait. Great bedside manner. I woke up this morning pain free without meds. He operated on me three years ago and received the same quality surgical experience.

I did not see Dr. Plakas. I saw his PA. She was a wonderful, caring person. She really understood my pain and is trying to get me into surgery ASAP.

Dr Plakas and his staff are great. He is the nicest Doctor and I’m very glad he is my Dr. I had an aneurysm and the Dr in Naples said it was going to be costly because of my insurance. They directed me to Dr Plakas, and I’m so glad they did. He listens to you and he is very kind/caring. So happy to be in his care.

5****** STAR DOCTOR however, his office seem to be Lee Memorial Hospital's private collection agency! I paid Dr Plakas IN FULL for his services 100%! In an earlier issue with a totally different hospital stay, my cardiologist discharged me while Lee Memorial took it upon themselves to decide I was not yet dischargable decided by the ward clerk??? I was unaware ward clerks have medical licenses???? After my wife spoke with our insurance and an attorney, I was informed by both I could leave the hospital of my own free will and would not be responsible for any additional fees beyond my discharge date by my LICENSED PHYSICIAN!! I think Dr Plakas should devote his time to the patients and leave collection services to the party claiming the billing issue! This may give Dr Plakas the 5* rating he's deserving of as a neuro surgeon with exceptional skill.............

Dr. Plakas was extremely professional and wasted no time confirming the fact that I needed to have neck surgery. I was really nervous about having the surgery, but he assured me that he was confident that it would be a success. He performed a cervical fusion of my C3-C4 and C4-C5. Just two days later, after having a double discectomy and a large plate, metal screens, and six titanium screws implanted in my neck, I was actually able to experience relief from the agony I'd lived with for years. I am extremely grateful that Dr. Plakas was willing to perform my surgery, and that he did such an excellent job! His staff has also always been extremely kind and helpful!

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. I waited almost an hour to be seen. The female PA wasn't as cordial as I would have thought, either was the checkout person. Dr. Plakas was very friendly and was willing to answer any questions and made sure I was comfortable with proceeding with my surgery.

I am a female Navy veteran who was sent here by Bay Pines VA for my final spinal cord stimulator. I found him to be rude and the visit was very short and he refused to treat me for my stimulator. I had to make the drive from Sebring to his offoce over in Fort Myers in lots of pain just to be refused this treatment with really no answers as to really why other than to say that my trial was with guide wires and he only does the paddle type. He also told me this would be a big surgery, but when I had time after to look this procedure up on the internet it said it was very non invasive sursery. So why lie to me in his office? My feeling after leaving was he just did not want to do a veteran!! This is my very 1st Dr. which I feel this way about over my many years now since being serviced by the veteran service to be seen by outside doctors!

Dr. Plakas is wonderful. He takes the time to show you what is happening, and explains what he sees, and what he recommends. Truly has the best bedside manner of any doctor or surgeon I have had to deal with in the last couple of years.

Very personable, listened intently. Explained options thoroughly. Felt very comfortable and relaxed with Dr. Plakus. Did not jump into surgery without going thru all the options. Going for a follow up end of month. Best info on my back yet, and I have been to many doctors. Dr. Plakus PA was very good as well. Thank you
