Dr. Detlifs was the surgeon on duty when I was in a hit/run motorcycle accident in Nov.02. I owe this man my life! I had died 3 times between the scene and hospital and was not expected to make it thru the night.With his help, here I am 14 yrs later! I went to the ICU 5 yrs after the accident,to see if anyone was there I knew, he came around the corner-looked at me,pointed and said you, I remember you, you were the motorcycle accident! I was floored he remembered. Thank you Dr.D for saving me!

Dr Detlefs is an extraordinarily compassionate, knowledgable, skilled and dedicated surgeon. I cannot say enough about the quality of care I received from him for my own unexpected and challenging surgery. . I am a physician myself, and I think of him as an exemplar of what a physician can be.
