Dr. Courtney Barrows McKeown, MD

My husband was referred to Dr. Barrows by our PCP. She was so knowledgeable, professional, and took time to answer all our questions. She had a waiting room full of patients but she made us feel like we were the only ones there. The surgery was successful and her follow up care was above and beyond. Her staff is just as professional and caring as she is!

Dr. Barrows actually found me. I had been struggling with gallstones for months and it finally became an emergency when I developed pancreatitis. She found my ER records and called me the next day to check in and see how I was recovering. She ended up scheduling an appointment for me to come in and discuss surgery. I am so glad I did! She explained everything about the gallbladder and surgery to my husband and I during that initial meeting and answered any questions we had. I really liked her approach and “bedside manner.” We were able to schedule a surgery for the following week and everything went very smoothly. Thanks, Dr. Barrows. I would certainly recommend her to anyone.

I met Dr. Barrows quite unexpectedly when I needed emergency surgery and she was on-call for my surgeons office. She performed my surgery like a champ and continues to follow me through my recovery. Dr. Barrows has proven to be a very competent surgeon and her bedside manner is warm and reassuring. I was referred to Dr. Barrows for hernia surgery and met with her. She does a great job of explaining what is going on and what to expect with your surgery. I really liked that she spoke on terms that a person without a medical degree can understand and took the time to answer my questions. Highly recommend!
