Inexperienced, unprofessional and unkind
I was suffering from Long Covid and was referred to a Pulmonologist by my primary care doctor, so I went to Piedmont for their Long Covid clinic. I was so debilitated from LC, having shortness of breath, chest pain, debilitating fatigue, Brain fog etc that I was unable to work.Dr Patterson had a nurse do a 6min walk test, then came to me saying nothing wrong with me, that it was all in my head. He then sent my PCP notes stating that I needed psychotherapy and had mental issues. His report devasted me, made me feel unheard, gaslit and invalidated in the most vulnerable time of my life. Fast forward 1.5y, I’m still battling Long Covid, had stent implant, various treatments with REAL long Covid experts that are helping me. Remembering Dr Patterson still brings me tears. While I understand many doctors didn’t understand LC, it’s a disgrace that Piedmont would have a “Long Covid clinic” with a man who didn’t have the slightest experience with LC and is gaslighting patients.

Patient was in Piedmont Hospital and recieved the most pathetic care I’ve ever seen by a Dr. Very rude to Patient and family, a disgrace to his profession. He wouldn’t even acknowledge the patient when the patient offered to shake his hand. He ignored him and when asked why he simply left the room. Even the 2 nurses were appalled by his behavior. Dr. tried discharging patient who was in CCU 3 weeks pryor stating he would most likely never recover from the medically induced coma.
