Dr. Cristobal Alvarado, MD

Dr Alverdao is a consummate professional! He discovered and fixed a vein problem in under an hour. As a patient, I’ve been struck by his confident, yet gentle nature. He explained each step along the way and told me what to expect post procedure. He even gave me his cell number, in the event of questions over the weekend. I would be remiss if I failed to mention his able side-kick, nurse Kim Gallant. Kim is kind and efficient, and she answered all my questions with patience and knowledge.

I'm writing this review not as a patient of Dr. Alvarado but rather in my role as a patient advocate. I met Dr. Alvarado at a community presentation he was giving on lung cancer screening.. That was more than 4 years ago. Since then, we have done several patient advocacy projects together. Dr. Alvarado is a skilled physician & passionate about providing the best care for his patients. He treats his patients with skill, empathy & respect and as equal partners in their health & healthcare.

Dr Alvarado is accessible and knowledgeable. He present details in a a way that I can understand and provides data to support his recommendations. I found my experience with him to be very positive.

I just heard that Dr. Alvarado is leaving Connecticut to move to Maine to open a vein center. I wish Dr. Alvarado the best. He is a great surgeon and very patient friendly. He gives all his patients his personal cell phone number. He not only delivers outstanding care but he respects his patients as equal partners in making medical decisions. If I ever need vein work I will definitely travel to Maine to see Dr. Alvarado.

Very talented surgeon who uses the most recent technology to reduce the risk of complications. It would be a much better world if there were more surgeons who were motivated to learn the latest techniques. Too many surgeons seem content to just use the same procedures that they were trained to use in their residency programs.
