Its hard to know where to start. My experince w Curtis was so disappointing. If ur looking for a supportive professional person, you might wanna rethink it bc he left me feeling belittled and not heard at all. Tbh, seeing all the glowing reviews, I’m like...how? He probably wrote them himself bc I can’t imagine anyone having a good experience w the kinda interaction I had. This kinda dismissiveness is just not what u expect from a doc, let alone a psychiatrist.

Dr. McKnight explained the situation and treatments to me better than practically all my other doctors ever had

My son had a severe seizure and was catatonic and had was experiencing psychosis post seizure. Dr McKnight was his Dr at Barrows. Not one other Dr there helped him. Dr McKnight diagnosed that he was over medicated. He wanted to take away most of his meds which was frightening to me. He asked me to trust him. Two days later my son was sitting up alert and normal. He had lost the ability to walk and was walking and for the first time in twelve years my sons hands weren’t shaking uncontrollably. Steady no tremors. After a month of no change he literally changed not only his acute condition but his life. An amazing Dr with incredible knowledge and compassion. Can’t thank him enough.

He had no concept of what I was going through and attempted to minimize my situation. He was patronizing and didn't really want to hear what I was saying. For being a specialist I felt he had little understanding of what people with PTSD experience and scant capability of how to treat it. Glad I don't have to rely on him for my mental health.
