my lucky day
iui was recommended by my primary care doctor when my psa was elevated. i set up an appointment and went there. i assumed it would be a male dr. i am old and shy about my looks at this time of my life and when dr. fairfax walked in i was shocked! even though smart people know that a woman has to be twice as good as a man to be considered even equal i was still upset. didnt take long to figure out that i really got lucky on this one. dr fairfax is very knowledgeable, professional, and she has a great sense of humor, which i really appreciate. she has guided me thru 2 years of prostate cancer treatment so far and she always listens and lets me decide what treatment will be performed. she always recommends what she thinks is best, but lets me decide. i love that. i wish i could convey how much she has meant to me in this treatment. keep up the good work doc and you have a not so secret admirer!

I met Dr Fairfax when I tried to pass my first kidney stone. I had surgery to remove, and had such a great experience with her I became very loyal. She listens, gives advice & insight, has a fun personality and has removed multiple stones from me over the years. My husband is now her patient, and I refer her to all my friends. Hope she never moves or retires!

Horrible
After waiting for months to see this specialist, this specialist asked me to go to the bathroom to do a urine test and told me that I looked healthy. I politely declined her suggestion to go to bathroom and urinate because I had already done sufficient urine tests at my primary physician’s clinic previous to seeing this specialist. I respectfully requested exploratory interventions to determine whether or not I have something serious in the anatomical area of her specialty. This person refused to treat me. When asked why she refused to engage in any of the exploratory interventions available for diagnostics purposes, she replied by saying she believed insurances will not cover it. When I assured her that, although I have the best private health insurance which will cover anything, I will also be able to pay everything out of pocket, she said that I must have cancer to be tested for cancer. I do not recommend Dr. Cynthia Fairfax.

In my opinion, the front end office staff, nurses, and Dr. Fairfax all do a great job! Check in/out and appointment setting are a breeze. The nurses are friendly and efficient. Dr. Fairfax does an excellant job of communicating with me about my condition, treatment options, and expectations.

Very Compassionate and Empathic
I love Dr Fairfax. I initially requested a different doctor but I couldn't align my schedule so I saw Dr Fairfax and am so glad I did! She is extremely knowledgeable, is a great listener, and explains everything in a way that I can understand it. You can tell she enjoys her job and cares about her patients. Each time I have gone in to see her (maybe once a year), she knows who I am and asks about the details of my personal life, that I had previously shared with her. She never rushes my appointments and ensures my questions are answered before she leaves the room. I had a procedure done and was very nervous. She deliberately adjusted her approach with me to show me she cared and put me at ease. During the procedure she explained everything, answered all of my questions, and asked how I was doing several times. I highly recommend her if you are looking for a great urologist in the Boise area.

It’s been five days since my surgery and, although I can’t say I’m feeling great, I’m feeling positive and optimistic. Mostly due to Dr. Fairfax’s excellent service and her confidence in our ability to treat and beat this disease. I’d like to thank Dr. Fairfax and her staff along with everyone over at St. Luke’s for guiding me through this. It’s never easy feeling helpless but it’s a lot more comforting when your treated like a person and not just a patient.

This doctor almost killed me. I was having very frequent UTI's and pain. I also had an MRI that showed that my Bladder wall was thickened with a note from the radiologist saying that he suggested further testing. She refused and scolded me for not using topical estrogen. I asked her to follow up with the results from MRI but she refused. My family doc sent me to a new Urologist and he found a 3cm tumor. If I had listened to her- it would have become cancerous. BEWARE- she has a huge ego.

Dr. Fairfax is an outstanding Urologist. I had previously seen a male urologist for an incontinence problem. He only prescribed meds. Effective treatment was delayed over six months. Dr. Fairfax conducted very thorough reviews and exams. Besides the normal pelvic exam, she referred me for Physical therapy as well as bladder testing. I was also given a comprehensive list of recommended vitamins, fiber, and softeners to use. I wish that I'd seen Dr. Fairfax first.

Good luck trying to see Dr. Fairfax. It took me months to get an appointment only to have her bail while I am in the waiting room. With her bailing, do you think I could get another appointment right away. No way, I ended up having to wait months once again. I come into her office today, and guess what, after I am there I find out she bailed again. This is the person I am trying to see because I have a kidney stone that is too large to pass.
