I have been a patient of Dr. McGarvey for years. Dr. McGarvey has a very pleasant demeanor and her care is patient focused. Dr. McGarvey takes the time to listen to her patients, she follows up and she is very thorough. I highly recommend Dr. McGarvey and JWM.

Dr. McGarvey has good credentials and was approachable and I was optimistic at first but switched to a neurologist at IU Health and am so glad I did. It was incredibly frustrating to deal with JWM. I was sent home from the hospital with no instructions or guidance. Discovered that no one responds to patient questions in the portal. Getting copies of test results from JWM was difficult and took several phone calls. I made a spreadsheet and showed it to both Dr. McGarvey at follow up appointment and her assistant via email showing that test results were missing from several tests done in the hospital. Followed up several times. Received no response providing the test results, explaining to me why they were no longer relevant or explaining why I was mistaken - simply no response for weeks! That was final straw and I switched to an IU Health neurologist. She repeated a few of the tests and ran some others. I had the results and a message in the IU portal in days! Get a second opinion.

I was somewhat apprehensive, not knowing what to expect. Dr. McGarvey was friendly and relaxed and explained the process. She made it comfortable and I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Initial visit was a breath of fresh air. So personable and thorough. Very reassuring. Would highly recommend.

While I like Dr McGarvey, I've continued to be extremely frustrated with how hard it is to get refills in a timely manner. I'm now going on a month and 3 requests for getting a refill on my migraine abortive. I've been with this practice for 4/5 years now and it continues to be an issue. Not excusable with an office managing clients who live with chronic pain.
