Long-time patient, this practice has changed
I've been with Dr. Santiago for over 10 years (I'm in my mid-thirties now) and for most of that time I had a generally good experience. Over the last 3-4 years I've noticed that Dr. Santiago seems burnt out and dismissive. 1. She made comments about my tattoos. It wasn't outwardly rude but more of 'wow you have a lot of tattoos, I would never.' It was unnecessary and a bit too familiar for someone who sees me twice a year. 2. When I was pregnant with my second son and she kept saying I was going to have to try for a girl even after I gently told her I was done having kids. It felt inappropriate, like she was a nosey aunt rather than a medical professional. 3. The final red flag for me was when I saw her PA for a physical. She made such a big deal that my weight went up 3 pounds and proceeded to lecture me about eating vegetables and whole grains. I'm a very healthy and active person and it felt humiliating to be spoken to that way, she was very 'bubbly' but came off as condescending

Terrible doctor
Awful experience with this doctor. I was a patient for over a year and really liked her at first. However, when I asked for her to share recent test results with a specialist I had began to see, her office staff refused to send my record and stated that the doctor treated my condition and that I shouldn’t be seeing a specialist. I informed her and staff that I was pregnant making my condition more high risk and felt more comfortable with a specialist, and would appreciate a share of record. They refused and I ultimately just had the specialist run additional tests. Subsequent,I was informed via a formal letter sent to me weeks later that I should see a new internist which I did. I have never experienced such lack of support and disregard for a team care approach through using specialists. I can’t speak to Dr. Santiago’s motives but to me it seemed that she was insulted that I wanted to see a specialist to oversee my care rather than continue to allow her to treat a specific condition.

Dr.Santiago is one of the most caring, compassionate, friendly, knowledgeable and professional doctors you can ask for. I considered her a friend. She always took great care of me like making sure I was one of the first patients to get a flu vaccine every year because I was a serious asthmatic at the time. I wish she was still my doctor.

Dr Santiago is like a God sent. From my first visit until now , it’s always a pleasure going to the office. And OMG! Jessica is like the sweetest person ever. She is very caring friendly; always greet her patients with a smile. They all went above and beyond to help me out today and I will never forget that. Which doctor is going to wait on the phone for 2 hr plus to get a result from some rude office receptionist that kept hanging up on them. But they didn’t give up, they kept calling and finally got through. Please be kind to people and they will be kind to you. Dr Santiago and her staff are the.... best on Long Island and maybe the Whole New York area. Dr. Santiago is very sweet and straight to the point and I love that about her, because if you don’t want to help your self by doing what you need to do she’s only human and she do her job very well. I’ll always go to her. ??Natesha

I came in with a serious problem and she talked me around in circles. Needless to say I had to go to another doctor to get help. I don't have confidence in her at this point.

Great doctor. She diagnosed a problem others could not. I like the fact that I always get to see her. I am not a number like at some of the other group practices owned by hospitals who usually make their employees unhappy. It's her practice, her business, her livelihood and she treats people with respect. Like part of a big family. Would recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Santiago makes me feel comfortable talking with her. She gives me options rather than just telling me what to do. She listens and does not rush through her time with me,

I would never recommend seeing this doctor. She does not care about any of her patients in the way that she should. I had a couple of questions for her in reference to my health and she was unprofessional and unresponsive to everything I asked her. I'm warning you don't see this doctor there are so many better positions out there.not to mention her hell rude receptionist.
