Horrible Beware
Beware of this doctor! My mother had the unfortunate event of having Damien Allen as a hospital Dr at St Benards June 2023. She went in ER for pain shooting down her left arm, chest pressure, neck pain, shortness of breath. I thought this was common knowledge of a heart attack, Damien Allen thought other wise. He said you arm can hurt for other reasons, yes but with the other symptoms we were worried. I told him we googled heart attack symptoms to be sure. He said Google will tell you anything. He proceeded to take her off her heart, anxiety, and pain medications she had been on for years without consulting her prescribing doctor. Also put her on a smoking patch she had a severe allergic reaction too and 5 months later she is still dealing with the reaction from it. He has a very poor bedside manner, doesn’t listen to patient, and doesn’t care about anyone’s opinion except his. I would give negative stars if possible.

My sister just had the unfortunate experience of encountering Dr. Allen in the emergency room of St. Bernard's Five Rivers Medical . She is 11 days into a covid-19 diagnosis and is severely dehydrated . She's dehydrated to the point that her blood pressure has bottomed out and she blacked-out, due to the low BP, per Dr. Alan. Still, after lab work to support this Dx, Dr. Allen refused to give her IV fluids to stabilize her blood pressure. She has not been able to keep anything on her stomach for 10 days and he refused to give her anything for nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. She is not a druggie nor was she asking for drugs. She's a full-time RN (14 yrs,) that has done everything that she knows to do to fight this Covid at home. With all of this going on, he released her to go back to work within 24 hours. Thank you Doctor Allen for being a prime example of the type of doctor that we all fear we'll encounter in the emergency room! Great Hospital, Physician... not so much.

I Took my wife to the ER after she suffered a seizure. We was scared and wanted to make sure it was under control. My wife suffers from lupus and chronic migraines. She had a migraine the day before the seizure that lasted all day. Her urine tested positive for barbiturates, which she had told them she had been taking her migraine medicine that was prescribed by her neurologist. Once the results came back he accused her of being a pill chaser and made fun of the way she was walking. She was still having leg twitching. She came out of the er in tears and couldn’t believe how bad he treated her. I am in the process of getting in contact with the hospital administrator at this time.
