Condescending and Argumentative
Did not examine my child and came in off the bat determined to not do the procedure. Was very condescending and argumentative. Assumed I had not taken all of my child’s health conditions into account and that I was uneducated on everything the procedure entailed. Did not do her due diligence in contacting my child’s other specialists regarding the potential complications undergoing the procedure and when it became apparent that was so, she actually scoffed. Waited months for this consultation appointment and now I understand - they try to excuse it as they are busy and few providers but based on our appointment I see it as negligence and reluctance. On a personal note, I was offended at her assumption I would have my child undergo any procedure if I did not think it was overall beneficial to their health. Unfortunately there are no other providers in the area so not much to do about it. I only hope our future experiences are overall improved.

Dr. Giel was very professional and empathetic. She took time to explain the options and made sure we were comfortable with the procedure. The surgery and recovery went very smooth, and we are happy with the results. I have already highly recommended her to people I know.

As others have mentioned, Dr. Giel was extremely rude to my family. She completely ignored my wife at every word and chastised us for allowing our 8 year old to have chocolate from time to time. We drive over 4 hours to see her to only receive rudeness and unprofessionalism.

As another reviewer mentioned, Dr. Giel was extremely rude and condescending during a recent visit. I had the same experience previously but assumed she was just having a bad day, and I decided to give her another try. BIG mistake. I have never been treated so rudely by a doctor in my life. We will be seeking treatment for my daughter elsewhere.

We’ve visited Dr. Giel’s office three times now. Once for a consult, once for circumcision and once for a follow up. On this last visit she had a condescending bedside manner. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be many choices for pediatric urology in the Memphis area. So sad.

Very comforting and informative. She always takes extra precautions and her recommendations are in the best interest of the child, not hers BUT the waiting time in the office is so long. Once I had to wait 2 hours in the waiting room then over an hour before she came in the room

Dr Giel is a fantastic surgeon. She pours herself into taking care of our child and the entire family. She always spends time with us answering all of our questions. When your child needs care it is a very stressful situation. She understands this and does everything within her power to put us at ease. She treats our child as if he was her own. I would not trust anyone else with my child's urology needs. We have sent several friends to her and they have all been wonderfully pleased.

VERY DISSATIFIED WITH OFFICE VISIT. MY FIRST VISIT AND WAS NOT PLEASED AT ALL. THE RESIDENT MADE ME FEEL STUPID AND ALSO INSULTED MY INTELLIGENT. I DROVE 1HR AND 20 MINS JUST TO ASK ME WHY DID I BRING MY CHILD AND PRETTY MUCH IT WAS A WASTE OF TIME. NEVER HAVE I SEEN THIS TYPE OF TREATMENT TAKE PLACE AT LEBONHEUR. DR. GIEL WAS NOT PLEASE AT ALL AND DID NOT DO A THOROUGH WORK UP. I AM JUST CONFUSE AS I WAS BEFORE I VISIT WITH THE DOCTOR. I'M SORRY 2 THUMBS DOWN.
