I have been a patient with Dr Planer for over ten years and have been satisfied with the care I have received. Yes, I sometimes see one of her assistants and I’ve been satisfied with the care I received from them also.

Love Dr. Planer—she listens and cares
I have been going to Dr. Planer for about a year and a half. She listens to me about any health concerns and does a though annual exam with blood, x-rays or anything else of concern. She does not waver to send you to a specialist if she cannot help.

For anyone scrolling to see this doctor reviews, please do yourself a favor and move on to the next possible physician on your list. She never sees her patients it’s always the nurse practitioner. They said I was late to my appointment when in fact I arrived before my appointment time and was so upset because I waited so long to be seen. Apologizing is still a thing, but rather apologize to your patient for over looking them, I was accused of being late. Also when you call to address medical concerns they refer you to another site and don’t follow up but instead call to make certain you keep your annual visit. It’s all about currency for this doctor. You are just a number please do your research and find a physician who cares.

Annual physical. Reviewed all lab work, meds and ongoing health issues. Talked with me about a new orthopedic issued and prescribed pain medication until I could secure an appointment with an appropriate Orthopedist. Best primary I have seen in Port Charlotte. Will be a patient for a long time. Her ARNP Stacey Lagasse is also a great asset to the practice

Very Rude, Made me feel like I was a waste of her time. A real doctor would do as much as possible to help someone in need, not treat them like a warden treats a prisoner. She must just be in it for the money, she sure isn't a doctor that cares. You're just a number.

I chose Dr. Planer based on her reviews. I believe that 5-7 years ago her mission and performance were excellent, but not now. I found her, her nurse to be friendly on the surface but sloppy, inattentive and defensive in their delivery. It took me two months to get my first appointment despite my x-rays and MRI prescription for antibiotics from Millennium Walk In prior to visit, she diagnosed me with COPD before her order for a sperimeter test for COPD results were in. The test was negative.

I agree with the previous reviewer, there is something wrong here. My experience regarding pain was different however. Dr. Planer's Nurse Practitioner Krista Russell may have been the prior reviewer problem. I know that that was my case. New to Florida, I needed a new primary care doctor primarily for my diabetes. Suffering also from chronic pain due to spinal stenosis, Dr. Planer offered me Oxycodone. When I met with Ms. Russell I found myself discharged and blacklisted by her remarks.

Dr Planer has serious problems in dealing with patients in extreme pain. After receiving only Ibuprofen for severe sciatic pain and updating her daily on my status, I finally had to go to an Emergency Clinic for proper treatment and medication. Most visits were only with nursing staff as the doctor was either to busy or absent. If you are in real pain, do not go here. We changed primary care doctors after only 1 month with her!
