Exceptional care

I came to see Dr Abelev after suffering severe pain in my leg; after discussing other symptoms I didn't think were relative, he diagnosed the possibility of a blood clot and called paramedics as he didn't want me to walk. Upon arriving at the hospital I was diagnosed with a saddle embolism. Dr Abelev's quick diagnosis saved my life.

I immediately felt at ease with Dr. Abelev. He was thorough, answered my questions, and explained in detail how one problem related to another. He actually seemed interested in me as a person, and not just another client to process in 10 minutes and go to the next. He takes as much time with me as needed to answer all my questions, even drawing out things I hadn't thought to ask.The office is state of the art. Their online user interface is really the best I've seen. Prescriptions are sent to the provider of choice directly and without delay.After my visit, I receive an email with a summary of all the things that were discussed, and all the instructions for follow-up. That info is also available on the patient portal. I'm truly pleased with all aspects of my interaction.

I went to see Dr Abelev twice. I liked him well enough but he was wrong at nearly every turn. He performed a ‘fluid’ draw in my knee that just spritzed blood and didn’t expected infected fluid and then convinced me to get a stat MRI. I had to pay for that out of pocket due to insurance snafus and it was both very painful and totally unnecessary. I was fine within a few weeks.

Dr. Abelev was cordial and welcoming. He acknowledged what I am doing well and made suggestions where I can improve. His explanations made sense and he seemed knowledgeable. The visit did not feel rushed and I experienced being heard. I appreciate the convenience of doing my lab work right there in the office. overall it was a pleasant experience.

When my daughter fell ill, showing signs of a possible sinus infection, Dr. Abelev's approach stood out. He dedicated time to inquire deeply, displaying genuine concern without any rush. We didn't feel like mere statistics; he truly cared. Such a positive encounter prompted me to return with my other daughter when she fell ill, and once again, we received the same exceptional care. If only more doctors followed Dr. Abelev's example in treating their patients.
