awful awful attitude
My experience with Dr. Balog was deeply disappointing. Instead of feeling supported during a vulnerable time seeking help for mental health struggles, I felt judged and scrutinized. His demeanor was rude and unprofessional. Rather than creating a safe, therapeutic environment, Dr. Balog seemed to be analyzing me from a judgmental perspective rather than with clinical compassion. To make matters worse, nearly 8 months after my appointment, I received a random billing charge that was never discussed with me either before or after my visit. This lack of transparency regarding fees is both unprofessional and unethical.Mental health treatment requires trust and respect, and unfortunately, I experienced neither during my appointment. Psychiatrists like this only reinforce stigma around mental health issues and create additional barriers for people seeking help. I would strongly caution others who are looking for genuine support with their mental health concerns to consider other providers.

Stay far away

After reading these reviews about this guy, I’m convinced the people leaving them are family and friends. This man was by far the worst mental health doctor I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot of really bad ones. His advice to me was to go back to the doctor and the system I said didn’t help me and I don’t trust. Please don’t waste your time with him. He literally told me “I can’t help you, I’m a small office.”

I relocated from Massachusetts 2.5 years ago and needed a proficient psychiatrist I was fortunate to find Dr. Balog. I couldn't be happier with the care I have received. He is a true professional and has a great interest in his patients needs. I highly recommend him.

I believe that Dr. Balog truly cares about his patients and wants to make sure that one gets the care best fitted for ones situation. He took the time to really listen and answer any question. Dr. Balog is experienced, thorough, and empathetic. E-mails/phone calls were quickly answered by Dr. Balog himself or a staff member. When problems with my insurance came up, his office was kind enough to look into it for me and was able to resolve it without me having to do a thing. No matter how many times I called, his staff was always friendly and helpful. All in all, I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend Dr. Balog to anyone who is looking for a psychiatrist!

I moved from Pennsylvania two years ago and needed to find a psychiatrist. I met Dr. Baylog and I have been a patient since. He is professional, follows-up on issues we spoke about, and I always walk away feeling so much better. I highly recommend Dr. Baylog.

Dr. Balog is fantastic. He really takes time to ask you questions about your health from the last time you've talked to him. I never feel like he's rushing to get to another patient like I've felt with other doctors previously. I'd highly recommend him to anyone!

I felt very comfortable talking with Dr. Balog about my issues. He was very straight-forward and helpful. I like the fact that he offers tele-medicine appointments and the app he uses to connect is user-friendly. His staff has been very pleasant and helpful when I needed assistance scheduling or rescheduling appointments.

Dr. Balog is a great doctor and I’ve recommended him to friends and family. I am very satisfied with his services and I have felt that I’ve really changed for the better since I became his patient. The person who left the bad review has the complete wrong idea. It also sounds like they may be needing a psychologist before a psychiatrist.

This was a very off-putting and unhelpful visit. I was trying to get a second opinion on intense anxiety I have been feeling. Dr. Balog's bedside manner was terrible and he frequently referenced some type of handbook he had while I was explaining my issues, as if he was looking for answers on a test. He also appeared to answer a text while I was pouring my heart out. At the end of my consultation his only advice going forward was "focus more on my hobbies" and maybe we can meet again in a MONTH. No drugs prescribed, no therapy or other self-help suggested. Never followed up on a patient that was borderline suicidal and made me feel hopeless and even worse about myself. If you need a pill pusher he may be suitable, but if you need a mental health professional who truly cares about you, keep looking. I may have just had a bad experience but this was by far the worst psychiatrist I have ever met with.
