I have been a patient of Dr. Barnes for about 6-7 years. I have type 2 diabetes along with a couple of other conditions. I know Dr. Barnes has a lot of patients, but when you come to the office he is completely prepared for you. He takes time with you to go over your file, and to go over how you have been feeling since your last visit. I have read reviews that he was too concerned about weight. I am over weight and yes he does encourage me to lose weight But in my opinion he does it for my best interest. He does not belittle me or seem discouraged with me. He just knows that my diabetes can be reversed and I can take less medications! This past spring i went to Dr. Barnes with what I thought were strange symptoms. Sudden anxiety, dizziness skin flushing, and nausea He immediately sent me to a cardiologist(even though my ekg was pretty normal) He personally pushed the cardiologist to move up my scheduled stress test. Thank God he did. My LAD was 99% blocked!

I went to Dr Barnes as a new patient since my primary doctor retired. Dr Barnes was rude, condescending and in appropriate. He is a bully who chastised me because I had “so many health conditions. “ He made me feel terrible about myself and repeatedly told me that he couldn’t believe how many health conditions I had. What doctor does that? I would NEVER go back to this doctor.

This man needs his medical license revoked. He is rude, condescending, inappropriate, disrespectful and a bully. I went to him as a new patient since my former PCP left my insurance network. He told me 3 times that I had SO many health conditions as if to say he just couldn’t believe it. Then he said “looking at you I never would think you had so many health conditions”. What doctor says that to a patient? I mean what’s the point of telling a patient that other than to make them feel terrible about themself? He actually seemed to enjoy seeing how upset I was. He then looked at a test result in my file and started vigorously shaking his head and waiving his hands as if he saw something in my file that was terribly concerning. I asked him why he was acting like that and he made an excuse and then he apologized and got WAY too close and tried to hold my hands! I backed away and began to cry and he again apologized if he upset me. Do not go to this so called doctor.

Three years ago I needed to find a new primary physician when my doctor retired after 30 years of a wonderful relationship. I was unhappy with his replacement for the first two years, and realized that I wanted a doctor who cared about me as a person and treated me as a partner in my health decisions. I found that doctor on Dan Barnes. He believes strongly in wellness habits and lives his values. He is thorough in his examinations and kind in his approach. Most important, I feel that if I don’t want to proceed with something he recommends, he will listen to my reasoning and honor my perspective. His communication style is clear and he responds immediately to questions and lab results. Five stars from me.

Horrible, horrible health care provider! Don't waste your time using him. He thought I was a waste of his time and had the nerve to tell me so. Who does that? There were about 8 other inappropriate comments I felt were rude, condescending, meant to intimidate me.

I was his patient for way too long. No matter what issue I had - fever, pain, or a medication side effect of statins (shortness of breath for a year) he attributed it to depression and anxiety. He made some of the most condescending comments through the years, which made me feel even worse. I don’t know if I will ever see a male doctor again.

This man is despicable!! These are his "motivating" words to a young, new mother of a less than 2 month old, concern about losing baby weight. If XXX lb you & xxx lb you were up for a promotion, which do you think would get the job?""If you were in a grocery line behind someone with a full cart & you only have two items, do you think he should let you go before him?" Not at your weight. This man needs his license revoked!!

His chair side manner is the worst I have ever seen. My depression has gotten worse after my visit with him thanks to him rudely telling me how he hates my personality traits on my first visit. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS GUY or anyone else in his practice as I do feel “birds of feathers flock together”

I was searching for a primary physician due to my physician was retiring and was not pleased with her assistant. My best friend recommended Dr. Barnes and I'm so please with him I would never switch. I would highly recommend him. I suffer from severe depression and he found 1 medicine that works without having to take anything else for my depression. Normally I need to try several before they get it right and it's a combination of medicines.

My oldest sister has been seeing Dr. Barnes for a couple years and the difference before and after are nothing short of miraculous. She had a deep mistrust of all doctors her whole life. She would not confide and could not be persuaded to make good health care decisions for herself. She was very difficult for anyone else to treat effectively. He treats her with kindness and does not approach her in a way where she feels forced. She has developed trust, genuinely likes him & enjoys her visit
