Trusting the woman’s body
Dr. Bowen and staff are competent, knowledgeable, friendly, and have trust in women’s bodies, which is a rare find in modern obstetrics. He delivered all three of my kids. I was able to have the birth I envisioned: unmedicated and with few interventions. He respected my wishes and also gave me options and information so that I could make informed decisions throughout my pregnancies. My mom, who attended two of my births, was shocked by how cool, calm, and collected— and hands off he was throughout my labors— as if they were the most natural, normal thing in the world. Imagine that! Grateful!

I’m a 71 year old woman who was tired of being blown off by other doctors. After Dr Bowen delivered my last grandchild I was sold. He actually looked at me, talked to me snd didn’t treat me as if I’m an Old lady way past childbearing years. I just referred him to my 74 year old friend because she’s tired of the same Baloney treat my for older women. Plus my daughter in las referred him to me because of her wonderful experience delivering her third child. Her doctor for the other two insisted on a c section so they could plan their vacations and time. His office staff is the best.

I chose Bowen because of his glowing reviews, but ignored the warning signs that something might be off. By God's grace my daughter and I are both alive. I developed a severe abdominal infection after Bowen delivered my daughter via c-section. Not ONCE did he check in with me during my month of hospital stay (where I almost died and had to have several subsequent surgeries), even though his office was aware of what was going on. When I finally was able to get into the office for my postpartum checkup (months later due to my condition), it was the most awkward visit where he basically just told me I needed to have my tubes tied, and it wasn't his fault I had an infection. All he cared about was whether I was going to sue him or not. I know he's once of the only options for VBAC in Cincy, but I beg you to look elsewhere.

It’s been a few years, but I want to leave an honest review. I felt that Dr Bowen was BOE responsive to my questions, and he was late to my birth. He didn’t even follow up by checking my healing but billed me for it. I feel like he gets glowing reviews for being less hands on, but he didn’t really help me much. I had to inquire about immunizations and blood tests that I felt were crucial. I also got a weird lecture from him about how I was putting him in an “awkward position” when I called him with a qeurstuin. Did it occur to him that he was about to deal w the most awkward posyiotin I’d ever be in in my life? Not really. I think people like him simply because he is less involved.

Outstanding doctor and office. They are a rare find. If you want a more natural-friendly experience, this should be your top choice. I switched doctors late in my first pregnancy and am SO glad I did. Bedside manner excellent and Dr. Bowen reads and stays up to date with trends, medical studies, etc. He helped me avoid a C-Section through some techniques with my first, and I'm back to him now with my 3rd pregnancy.
