Unprofessional and Dismissive
I recently had a consultation with Dr. Carlton regarding my nasal concerns, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Dr. Carlton came across as dismissive, rude, and passive-aggressive during our conversation. When I repeated some information about my medical history, he seemed agitated and short tempered. I was simply trying to provide accurate information about my condition. Furthermore, he appeared unconcerned about my lingering pain and didn't seem interested in understanding my situation. As a patient, I expect to be treated with compassion and respect. Unfortunately, Dr. Carlton fell short of my expectations.I've noticed that Dr. Carlton's online reviews are consistently low, with an average rating of 1.5 out of 5 stars. In contrast, his colleague Dr. Fife has a rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars. This significant difference suggests that Dr. Carlton needs to reassess his approach to patient care.

Terrible care
Dr. Carlton in roseville prescribed a nasal spray that spray caused nose bleeds I emailed him immediately... 2 weeks went by and nothing I emailed again and nothing. Another week goes by with nothing. I finally called and got Kira his medical assistant. I asked her why the Dr was not replying to me. she said he's in surgery today I said ok then when he's out of surgery can we find out what's going on she refused to answer she just said do you want to make an appointment or not? I had an appointment in the near future I just needed to know why I was being ignored I asked can I book a video visit? that would be easier with work and she frustratingly told me they don't do video visits. I hung up and almost immediately she erased me from their system to include my future appointment. I emailed Dr carlton about my experience and he never replied so a week later I called the office manager. The manager said she would address my issues. I got a refusal to treat from Carlton a week later

Treated like a commodity
Rushed. Appointment was less than 5 minutes. Didn't asked me any questions or show any curiosity of what was going on with my issues--just assumed. Follow up after an imaging test was 'go see your primary doctor'. He is the one who refereed me to the Sac ENT. Good thing I have insurance as the bill was nearly $800 for this. Insurance discounted that to something reasonable.

My sister went with me and we both think Dr. Carlton is awesome. He addressed my issue, which was chronic coughing and no other doctor would really address. He explained it to us really. He answered our questions. He and I made a plan. He referred me to where I needed to go.And besides his being great, his staff was super and efficient also. When one found an interaction between a med that the Dr. prescribed and one that I was already taking, he excused himself and found the doctor and told him. Dr. Carlton came back in the room and talked about the two and we decided that I would consult with my PCP about that. All in all it was a great experience!

Needs to listen and treat people well
Terrible terrible doctor. Not only is he rude but he doesn’t even let you explain what is going on. He does a quick exam and if he doesn’t find anything obvious does t bother to ask questions to figure what is going on . My father was an ENT and he would never treat patients so poorly . A specialist needs to hear all details and help guide you . And he needs to understand that a person if they are unwell deserves some kindness . For a specialist to be done in 5 minutes one can say he is not thorough . Told me to get an OTC medication but didn’t make any recommendations.
