Horrible experience
He was 45 minutes late to the appointment, in which he completely blew me off which seemed to do with being a work comp case. My radiologist stated I had three different tears in my knee and he claimed “we don’t know if these are current” “let’s try therapy and see if it hurts” “you walked in, it could be something you could learn to deal with” “if it still hurts after therapy we will look into surgery. Didn’t answer many questions. Felt like he dismissed me and the chronic pain I’ve had for 8-9 weeks now. I’m not sure if it was an off day for him, but he had zero empathy, compassion, and seemed as if his time was more valuable than my pain.

I saw Dr Emerson several years ago for hip and shoulder replacements. With both my hip and shoulder surgeries he listened to my concerns, answered my questions. Both surgeries went very well and eliminated the arthritis pain. Last year my other shoulder was giving me problems, so I saw Dr Emerson again. My shoulder replacement surgery went very well and I am again very happy with the outcome. Dr. Emerson is an excellent surgeon and I highly recommend him

Probably the worst experience I’ve had with a doctor. Having been dealing with a very consuming issue for 6+ months, imagine my frustration when I was basically told “just wait it out, or deal with it.” I was jarring. Right off the bat he seemed dismissive and like his main concern was getting me out of the office. The majority of the appointment seemed like an uphill battle of me trying to convince him that my concerns were real, as was my pain. Most concerns I had were batted away as “you’re too young for that,” despite personally knowing people who underwent similar issues at even younger ages. In fact, he went as far as to say, very flatly, “you’ve tried everything, I don’t have better news for you,” despite having no imaging on the area. Upon further investigation into other review’s of Dr. Emerson, I noticed this vague “too young” explanation was not unique to my experience.

I have seen Dr. Emerson on several occasions for nonsurgical issues of my hip and knee. He’s been very attentive and always listens to my concerns. He lays out several treatment options and lets me have a part in making the decision of what to try. I’ve been to both east and west side offices and the staff is very friendly and considerate both places. I’m always able to get an appointment fairly quickly and my appointments have always run pretty close on time. I highly recommend Orthopaedic Associates!

I saw Dr. Emerson for hip replacement in 2014 and shoulder surgery this year. Due to the extensive arthritis in my shoulder, he said I may need a reverse shoulder replacement. But he was able to do the standard surgery. My shoulder is now pain free with full of range of motion again, as is my hip. With both my hip and shoulder surgeries he listened to my concerns, answered my questions, so I felt confident going into the surgeries. Dr. Emerson is an excellent surgeon and I highly recommend him.

Dr. Emerson is always kind and compassionate. He listens to ones complaints and talks to you and not at you! He has treated several problems that I have had and the surgery took care of my pain. He is easy to talk with and is "down to earth". I am so thankful that I selected him after my previous orthopedist retired! I highly recommend him!
