I have been a patient of Rocky Mountain Neurology for many years. I saw Dr Kitei for some testing and was his patient for awhile. Dr Kitei took care of my mom, who had Parkinson’s, the last few years of her life. My mom really liked him. I would highly recommend Rocky Mountain Neurology to family and friends. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Dr. Kitei was randomly picked, I assume, to do a needling EMG for me by my orthopedic doctor. This was to determine any muscle or nerve issues that could be going on, causing numbness and tingling in my hands. Although his assessment appeared to be thorough, his bedside manner could use some help. Also, as is my right and was a choice on the forms I was asked to filled out, I asked that ALL results also be sent to another doctor. I also asked Dr. Kitei to make sure they were sent. That did not happen and I had to call and ask them to be faxed over. When they were, it was not the results but just a report stating all information I had filled out and stating that my BMI was high and I needed to exercise! I know that I am NOT overweight, regardless what statistics say and I actually happen to exercise 4 to 5 times a week. And....what does my BMI have to do with anything he was testing for? I would highly recommend not seeing Dr. Kitei, but one of the other two neurologists in this office.

Misinterprets data and is not very thorough in his documentation. Spends very little time with his patients so his understanding of a person's issues are very limited and lacking. Details are important, and instead he glosses over them. He is also an Independent Medical Examiner which means he makes big money to ignore and twist facts around, misreport or underreport, and minimize the status/condition of disabled people. I honestly do not know how someone like Dr Kitei can sleep at night, I certainly would have horrible nightmares. I will pray for his soul for every patient he has taken advantage of. In my opinion, his patients are less important than the financial gains he makes.

I was referred to Dr. Kitei by WC for daily headaches due to a concussion. He said “do they know I’m not a headache specialist?” Referred me somewhere else and that was the extent of my appointment. Maybe when my doctor was setting up the referral with Dr. Kitei’s office, they should have let them know “he wasn’t a headache specialist!” Total waste of time which by the time I got the referral and appointment at least 6 or 7 weeks had gone by! I also have balance and dizziness issues that I mentioned to him. One paragraph of his notes I received said patient doesn’t complain of dizziness.” Doctor doesn’t listen and had no personality at all! Very disappointed in this appointment!

I was charged for an appointment that was completely unnecessary. I was told that I would be getting an EMG at my first appointment, but when I went in, Dr. Kitei asked about insurance and said he wanted his office to check with my insurance before we did the test. Why that was not done before the appointment I do not know. Although the cost of that appointment was reduced, I still had to pay nearly $200 for 10 min. to be told I would need to come back.
