Cery Surprised
I was examined by Dr Mckenna and he recommemded surgery to help my breathing and nasal drip. After surgery I was put on two nasal sprays for two months, Neither of the sprays produced results. On my third visit I was advised that Dr Mckenna had no more bullets in his gun????? Nothing to help me. I have been seen by specialist in Pitttsburgh Pa, Columbus Ohio, and the Cleveland Clinic Clinic in Ohio I never had a physician say there is nothing else I can do for you and walk outmof the office.

Vocal cord surgery
He is very confident in his abilities and knows his field. Some people need coddling and maybe he’s not for you but he has the skills and he did a great job removing my vocal cord polyp.

I did not have such an issue with the doctor himself, though he was only in the room with me for 10 seconds before he decided that I needed surgery. My biggest issue is with his billing department because after telling me that they are refusing to bill my insurance, they stopped answering and returning my phone calls when I left a voicemail. The correct authorization was obtained, and my insurance company agreed that they would pay. This has been going on for months with no real response or explanation and I have called at least 50 times. If surgery is indeed needed, they are delaying treatment with this unprofessionalism.

Requested change in providers
I requested a different doctor in the practice due to I just don't like him. He never does anything. He has a poor attitude and the dismisses you. He refused to sign the authorization! Who does that except someone who loses patients due to poor behavior. I would rather not get medical treatment than see him

Rude Doctor
I'd give his staff 5 stars but him I'd give him 1 star. He rushed through my appointment and seemed annoyed that my issue ending up not being an ENT problem. All of my questions seemed annoying to him and his answers were patronizing. He literally was trying to rush out the door and I asked him to wait because I had more questions. He was cocky and rude. I went to him because my PCP highly recommended him but now I am seeing his 2.3 star rating and wish I had checked Health Grades. Doctors have bad days just like all of us but this doctor clearly wasn't having a bad day, he just does not care.

Awful
Wanted to do surgery, after waiting a month with no surgery scheduled I requested my file. He lied about my CT scan and my sinuses being blocked. Didn't have surgery and here I am years later no surgery and I'm just fine. He's arrogant and uncaring. I wouldn't trust this guy to change the oil in my car much less operate on my head.

Terrible patient bedside manner
May be excellent surgeon but difficult to communicate with. He would not schedule pre-op consult after x-rays to explain why I needed surgery. Before surgery my x-rays were up but he refused to explain what he was going to do to correct sinus problem. I felt he was arrogant, and I canceled post-op follow up. I will not go back.

Great Dr.
Dr. McKenna was the only Doctor in 50 yrs to correctly diagnose and treat my nasal infection on the 1st visit. Within 3 days of being on my prescription my sinus problems were no more. I have tried many different Eastern and Western style doctors, and he is the only one to get it done. I would highly recommend him. mj

Excellent experience from start to finish. Dr. McKenna and staff were great. I was concerned before my appointment because this practice has so many terrible reviews on social media. I decided to keep my appointment and I'm glad I did. I had a fantastic experience and would recommend highly. It's a shame that the social media comments are so awful because they don't reflect the reality

Total waste of time. Doctor trivialized my visit for post COVID concern and a chronic nasal bleed. Said they would clear up naturally, and asked why I came? Duh 20 years of nose bleeds - hello - si habla English? Must have graduated ‘Jimmy Kimmel’ Medical school. My wife, a medical professional was with me and was outraged by his arrogant demeanor and poor listening skills. We will seek professional care elsewhere

I would give this place 0 zeros if I could. My father was seen by Dr. McKenna for chronic eustachian tube dysfunction. He was treated with such disrespect it is unbelievable Dr. McKenna is allowed to practice. He was aggressive and dismissive. I can only hope he chooses to retire soon or his license gets pulled for the complete lack of care and respect he gives his patients. He should be ashamed of himself.

Rude. Condescending. Did not read my chart before he met with me. Although another doctor in his practice that I was referred to passed me off to him because he was "a better surgeon" after my brief meeting with him, he stated he was going to refer me to yet another surgeon. He told me the only surgeons that remove parathyroids were ENTs, I had a vascular surgeon perform surgery and that surgeon is amazing. I made an appointment with vascular surgeon as soon as I left Dr. McKenna's office, angry and upset. I would say I received zero treatment and a waste of my time and distance I traveled. Highly recommend you do not see this "surgeon/doctor."

We had a great experience with this office and Dr. McKenna. My husband’s 1st appt. was with Sean Middleton, PA-C. After a thorough exam that included a scope of the throat, Dr. McKenna was beckoned to the room. Dr. McKenna indicated that my husband needed surgery to remove a troubling Tonsil and The need for a biopsy. He told my husband they were going to treat this situation like “the house was on fire“...and he did! He cleared his surgery schedule to make my husband a priority and surgery took place 6 days later. The biopsy showed Lymphoma. Dr. McKenna’s office staff were sweet and accommodated the delivery of the biopsy report to us prior to the 2nd appointment - which we appreciated so much! Dr. McKenna was professional, confident, kind, and easy to converse with. He explained the diagnosis in easy to understand terms and the plan going forward with Oncology. I would recommend Dr. McKenna to my family and friends. Sally

I was referred to Dr McKenna by the VA for a lump in my throat August 2019. He explained to me the process would be to send me for a PET scan, then to drain the lump and send for cancer testing. He then drained the liquid and just by looking at it, he determined it was not cancerous, canceled the PET scan and said when it fills back up, contact his office and we can schedule surgery to remove it. Around February 20, I contacted them to schedule the surgery, they said my referral had expired, so I needed a new one. This time the VA kept it in house, and story short the biopsy came back positive for stage 1 cancer that had been there for over a year. I have an 87% cure rate for this cancer, but now I have to go through it all with the concern of COVID. If Dr McKenna had done his job, I could already been done with my treatments, before COVID reached it's current level, putting my life at risk. If you can, avoid this doctor, if you can't, and he does not get you results, ask for a second

I went to see Dr. McKenna after my first functional endoscopic sinus surgery failed. It was performed by another local doctor that did not complete the job and I suffered multiple infections and ended up in the hospital. The ER doctor is actually the one who referred me to McKenna. I was hesitant at first because of some of the negative reviews, but I am so happy I went to see him anyway. He determined that I would need another surgery to complete the FESS and open up all of my sinus cavities. The surgery was quick and the follow up with his office was far superior than the other doctor I dealt with. It's been months since my surgery and my sinuses have improved exponentially without any infections. He may not be the most sensitive "bedside manner" type of doctor but that's not what I was looking for. I was looking for someone who could do the job and do it right and that's what he did. He tells it like it is and gets the job done right. Highly recommend.

I was seen by Dr. McKenna for a nosebleed that required an emergency room visit the night before. I found him rude and abrupt. I have had sinus cancer with extensive surgery. He had not bothered to even read the health history form prior to coming into the room. When I mentioned cancer he then turned to the form and read it. He then said “three cancers ,you must have a defective gene”. He proceeded to look up both nares and commented “it looks pretty beat up in there”. He never even bothered to acknowledge my wife’s presence in the room. He told me to use nasal saline spray and left the room..... Total time of him in the room was less than four minutes. I would never recommend anyone to be seen by him and I certainly would never return.
