This Dr is absolutely the best!! He spends as much time with you as you need. He is compassionate, knowledgeable, and deeply invested in his patients health. He even gives you his personal cell phone number in case you need him immediately! He changed my life when he tried a newer surgery on a debilitating condition caused by another surgeon that improved the situation dramatically. I can not recommend Dr. Penn enough! I would leave 100 stars if the site would let me!

My initial visit with Dr. Penn was good. l went to see him as a second opinion on a previous surgery that he also performs. I was scheduled for an EGD scope to be performed by Dr Penn. His office had even called 5 days before to confirm the procedure. Anticipating and preparing for the two-hour drive to the procedure, the morning of, I got a call from Dr. Penn saying he wasn't going to do the EGD because it was not necessary. He did not even apologize for calling the day of the appointment to cancel the procedure. Also, the person that was to assist me had to make prior arrangements to their own work schedule. I feel this to be very disrespectful and unprofessional.

Dr. Penn performed the TIF Procedure on me. He provided his cell number after the procedure and told me to contact him if I had any questions. When I had questions and would text, he responded within 10 minutes, completely answering my questions, very cordially, ensuring I was satisfied, allowing me to stop the conversation, never rushing me. He told me he felt it was part of his being my Dr to be available to answer my questions. I highly recommend him to everyone.

Don't waste your time if you want to see a doctor. Apparently, he is never in the office, he spends all his time at the hospital.

I have a horrible family history of pancreatic cancer and Dr. Penn makes me feel more at ease knowing that he is actively looking for the cancer to catch it before it gets bad. Pancreatic cancer is a death sentence, but know he is on my side and looking to find it early gives me a chance that it might not be a death sentence. He is a good man that I am trusting with my life. Highly recommend him.

I had a recent bout of severe diverticulitis which resulted in a large abcess. I was getting ready for major surgery, Dr Penn consulted with his colleague at Jacksonville Mayo Clinic and Dr Penn decided to try a stent into the abcess. It saved me from having major surgery and possible a colostomy. I feel that he and his staff went above and beyond and I cannot say enough good about them. He is not only a great physician but a compassionate human being also. Thanks Dr Penn and Cindy!
