Friendly, professional
It was busy in the waiting room, but quick and efficient. Got seen soon after I checked in. Jo was great at intake, x-rays were taken by a very nice tech. Dr Silcox came in shortly there after, explained the x-rays, came up with a treatment plan and I was on my way.

Smart, nice, outstanding talent
After enduring a year of horrible pain, and off and on pain for 4 years, and visits to Emory Ortho (which are awful doctors) telling me it was arthritis and giving me shots in my hip, I went to dr. Silcox. I told him I suspected this was a back issue (even though I had no back pain). He listened, and properly diagnosed the issue. Hal did my L4-5 fusion over a year ago, and I was pretty much a new man the day after the surgery, and only needed pain meds for 3 days (a testament to his skill). Unfortunately, it didn't last, but that isn't his fault, I have other areas now needing attention, and I am sticking with him. He is an outstanding doctor, and explains things in very simplistic terms (not talking down to you, just making things easy to understand). He also makes himself available, actually puts his hand on you to do tests and a thorough examination, and he takes time to talk to you. Moreover, he will not recommend surgery unless it is a last resort, which is great.

Thorough Doctor
I have been seeing Dr Silcox over the years for different problems. He has always been attentive and thorough. I like that he always takes a conservative view when it comes to my health instead of immediately offering surgery. I trust him in helping me to stay in the best health possible.

I was referred to Dr. Silcox by a healthcare provider who said Dr. Silcox is the best orthopaedic surgeon in the Atlanta area. After seeing him twice, I must agree that he is an extraordinary doctor. I highly recommend.

Dr. Silcox found my problem immediately where others missed it. He performed surgery and I am now well on my way to recovery from debilitating pain. I am so grateful to Dr. Silcox, Todd Messick (his PA) and his entire staff.

Competent, caring, discerning surgeon
Dr. Silcox has treated me for back problems for over a decade. He and his staff (Todd, Jo, Sean) are fantastic--never rush through an appointment, provide thorough treatment and medication explanations, and are prompt to follow up to portal messages and calls. After exhausting all other options, I finally had back surgery a year ago. The neurosurgeon with whom I consulted for a second opinion told me Hal Silcox is the only surgeon he would let operate on him . . . seemed to be the ultimate recommendation. Dr. Silcox and his staff are caring, professional, and just good people. I drive a six-hour round trip from out of state to receive care from them and will continue doing so. It's well worth it.

Dr. Silcox did a lateral lumbar interbody fusion on my lower spine in January of 2015. The procedure was a complete success, and I was soon able to do PT on my own at home. In short, I got my life back! As I have aged another six years, my level of comfort post-op is about the same, but the overall goal was to fuse the vertebrae to hold off any further deterioration, and that goal has been realized 100 times over. My back tires after standing for prolonged periods of time, but other than that, I am still active, comfortable, and able to work full-time. The staff at Peachtree Ortho is second to none. I have dealt with many members of the team, and I can honestly say every encounter was pleasant, professional, and glitch-free. There were no insurance claim issues whatsoever; billing was fast and accurate. I would recommend Peachtree Orthopedic Clinic to anyone needing orthopedic surgery ... on any part of the body!

My initial visit with Dr Silcox was great and he gave me hope that he had found the real issue with my back pain and a course of action to further diagnose with an injection and treat with a new procedure if that proved the new thesis. He said to see him 2 weeks after the injection which was reiterated by the Dr doing the injection. So I had the injection and have been trying to schedule a follow-up. Dr Silcox has no appointments for 2+ months out! They suggested an appointment with his PA and I did that. Now that has been canceled by the PA. I called to reschedule and now have to wait another week to see the PA. In the meantime I am still in pain. Even though Dr Silcox seems to be a great doctor this practice is a nightmare to deal with.

By far the best customer service from any doctor, I have ever received. The scheduling process with Sean was seamless. He even reached out and gathered additional documentation so that i wouldn't be inconvenienced. His check-in staff were also great natured, pleasant and timely! His nurse was phenomenal and thorough. Radiology was quick and accurate. Lastly, Dr Silcox took his time and kindly explained my prior images and each in office test he was performing and why. Not once did he speak in medical jargon without explaining. 100% recommend Dr. Silcox and his entire staff!!!
