Not great with kids
Took my son to see him once. He asked a few questions and seemed dismissive of my son. He shooed him away when my son wanted to show him something we didn’t go back.

Dr. Tan is excellent. He always spend time talking to my son and teach him life is hard and he has to cope. I saw other reviews saying Dr. Tan only prescribe medicine?! You found this weird? If you want to talk to someone, go see a Psychologist who are trained to listen to you and are not allowed to prescribe medicine. If your Psychologist thinks the therapy alone is not enough, then you will be referring to a Psychiatrist for medicine. Do some study, don't just complain!

My 5 year old son has ADHD and we took him to see Dr. Tan. With little to no discussion, Dr. Tan was ready to prescribe medication. I was very disappointed with how quickly Dr. Tan was to give medication and without discussing lifestyle or circumstances too. I would caution you to go to this psychiatrist! He clearly is only interested in prescribing meds to make a quick buck.

Dr Tann was very honest with me. He didn't try to talk me into a bunch of stuff I didn't need. This dentist and his staff are the real deal.

In my opinion, if you are simply looking to be medicated, this is your doctor. On the other hand, if you want someone who attempts to understand your condition and determine what, if any, medications and dosages are appropriate, run the other way. We brought our teen son to Tan for OCD and on the first visit he asked about 10 simple questions in a 10-15 minute session before prescribing. After that it was 5 minute visits every 3 months with no blood work or quality questions. Unbelievable!
