Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.....
I know this is long over due, but I can not imagine that Dr. Wechter has really changed.I can not put into words the comfort and compassion that Dr. Wechter has for his patients. I became Dr. Wechter's patient after receiving the news that I had breast cancer during my pregnancy. During my pregnancy I under went a bilateral mastectomy and my first 12 weeks of chemotherapy. There were so many concerns that my husband and I had as we traveled this road, but Dr. Wechter did his best to put our mind at ease, even if it was to tell us things we didn't want to hear; the truth is more comforting than a sugar coated answer. We had a complication just before delivery and Dr. Wechter stayed at the hospital the entire time to make sure that everything went as is should. Our son was born 6 weeks early and spent time in the NICU. Today our son is 11 yrs old and healthy. Thank you Dr. Wechter again, you were exactly what our family needed.

Bedside manner is horrendous. He never looked at me when he was talking to me, so I spent the entire appointment wondering if he was talking to me or his resident. When he was talking to me, he mumbled and I could barely understand what he was saying. I could tell he was not listening to what I had to say. He would leave the room, come back, and ask the same questions that I had just answered not 15 minutes ago. He ended the appointment with some very rude and condescending comments about my weight. I would avoid this doctor at all costs. He really needs to retire.

Dr. Wechter has been amazing to me! He recognized the concern of my twins having TTTS and sent me to UofM to have laser ablation surgery. I then started seeing him weekly and he has been great! Explains things well to me, doesn't sugar coat anything and always says: If you were my daughter or if you were my wife. He definitely has my best interest at heart. Love this doctor!

Bed side manner is terrible. Really lacking. This guy did not listen to me or even take into consideration my concerns. He accused me of arguing with him when I tried to voice concerns or ask questions. He repeatedly cut me off, inturpted, and talked over me. He was very rushed and did not take time to read my chart prior to entering the room. He kept insisting he would do this or that if I was his daughter... very unprofessional. Didn't even address the reasons I was referred here.

We saw Dr. Wechter for both of my pregnancies for different fetal abnormalties and was impressed with him and his knowledge. His nurses were quite kind.

I was hoping for more from a MFM specialist. I'm a healthcare provider knowlegable about obstetrics and gynecology myself, but conversation felt a bit condescending. His bedside manner left much to be desired and the lecture on my weight was unnecessary - as if I was not already aware of the risks and I haven't been told the same things by my primary. I wasn't even impressed with the diagnostic images he captured. I'll return for my follow-up, but only because UofM is a more difficult drive.
