Appointments with her are unpredictable.
She rarely looks at you or really listens, preferring to type into her computer. Her moods are unpredictable, sometimes pleasant, often harried and almost rude. As a clinician, she projects occasional knowledge and care, but needs to develop her professional skills.

Hateful person
Told me I shouldn't have any expectations for recovery since I didn't 'have a real disease'. When I mentioned it seemed like Danielle didn't like me (I was quite distraught at this point), the mask came off with 'It's not my job to like you'. Danielle has some personal issues and shouldn't be trusted with patients' health. I still don't know why I was treated poorly, and don't really care at this point, but please steer clear if you want someone that takes medicine seriously. Reading the other reviews here, I feel validated as there is definitely a pattern.

Reliably condescending and combative
Inherited her when my previous doctor retired. He would have been horrified. Basically like having a critical medical relationship with a highly combative third grade teacher. Just awful.

Simply the best
Dr. O'Banion is thorough, astute, insightful, empathetic, and funny too! She knows me well and tells me what I need to hear, even if I don't always want to hear it. With her guidance, I'm gradually learning to navigate the challenges of illness and age with a sense of hopefulness, not of loss. I'm so grateful for Dr. O'B!

Knows her stuff
One of the few healthcare professionals I have had that listens. A good wide range of knowledge. I think she’s figured out how to handle my cranky persona because I keep going back (lol).

A Careful and Knowledgeable Practitioner
With the retirement of my previous doctor, I was referred to Dr. O'Banion who is new to the practice. I have had four visits with her and found her friendly and well-informed regarding my prescriptions and general health. I think that it is a great addition to the practice to have a more recently trained, yet experienced doctor.

Memory questions
She discussed my experience and gave me a brief test to determine the quality of my aging memory. She explained to me what she was doing and how she was evaluating my experience of not being as sharp at 82 as I'd like to be. I feel a lot more control of my situation after speaking with her.

Defensive and doesn’t listen to patients.
Poor! Dr O’Banion does not listen, and draws conclusions based on her thoughts rather than what the patient is experiencing. She dismisses pain as a psychological manifestation rather than being related to physical conditions. As another reviewer mentioned - she is combative and defensive, not sensitive to a patient’s needs and concerns. I also find she is never prepared for the visit and seems unfamiliar with the conditions being discussed in past and present communications. Not recommended.

Horrible experience.
Incredibly rude, unfriendly, combative, and defensive. I will not be seeing her again, nor would I EVER recommend her to anyone. My previous PCP, who was one of the founders of the practice and has since retired, would have been absolutely appalled by Danielle O'Banion's behavior.

Please Avoid This Doctor
My son was a student and went to Dr. O'Banion. Without asking him questions about his mental health history, she prescribed him medications that could have caused him long term permanent problems. Luckily he told us before any damage was done.

Concerned Parent – Jan 26, 2023
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. O'Banion?
At first, she was a helpful doctor. When I started having health issues she did full blood work (but there were red flags—she said my chronic pain was me maybe being “sensitive to pain”). I have a neurological condition that affect my affect and once after going to the ER after passing out, she said she “didn’t believe” me because my affect made it unclear if it was an emergency or not. She said my health issues were a “manifestation of gender dysphoria” and that she didn’t want to deal with my issues anymore. Turned out that I have severe mast cell disease, seizures, and other complex health issues. My last appt with her was traumatizing.

Dr. O'Banion has been my doctor for the past five or so years. She's listened to my concerns and has provided me recommendations that have been invaluable. I was really ill three years ago and she was the first person (after going to a minute clinic and and emergency environment) to recognize what I was dealing with was beyond a simple flu. I really think she's the best doctor I've had (and I'm in my mid 40's).

Great doctor – Mar 14, 2021
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. O'Banion?
Dr. Danielle Obanion is one of the worst doctors. After having a leading doctor in MA for more than 20 years retire, I tried Obanion. She is dismissive of her patients symptoms. Every issue I brought up was "menopausal". As it turned out, I ended up this past April in emergency gallbladder surgery from symptoms I'd been complaining about for two years. She had even noted a spiked blood pressure at my last appointment, and said simply "we should watch that". I had never had elevated blood pressure prior to that appointment, and it is one of the key tipoffs to gallbladder combined with my other complaints of regular bloating, and sharp shooting pains (all indicators of gallstones). when I had a tick bite and needed to get antibiotics, she refused unless I came to her office, and when I agreed, she said she had no appointments for a week (by then it would have been too late to get on antibiotics), so I ended up in emergency care. Avoid this doctor like the plague.
