Unprofessional Doctor
I was using a Catheter at the Hospital and I was waiting for my appointment to see him, he decided not to see me because I have the catheter in me, I had been waiting. For 5 weeks, he decided not to see me because he isn’t the one who put the catheter in me, that was worse because when my doctor suggested to change for another catheter, my bladder had a blood clot and I was suffering for the pain in my bladder. I decided to go to the ER and they changed for another one and they were mad because I waited to long to change it. God Bless you Doctor.

STAFF is HORRIBLE it has been a little over a month since I tried getting an itemized statement from them., Monica, the billing clerk states she is the only one there and has no help from anyone and that IT IS WHAT IT IS! Apparently, she stated it was faxed to my insurance company on October 10, 2024, as per my insurance they have not received anything. And still as of right now they have not submitted to my insurance. This Monica lady is a liar. Dr. Asase does not need a rude personal especially when patients need their assistance.

Staff horribke
My PCP tried for 3 weeks to get an appointment. They could never get a call back. PCP kept calling and finally was told I should see my former Urologist in Edinburg which is over 60 miles away. My PCP told them I lived in Cameron County now but they refused to make the appointment just kept telling PCP for me to go back to Edinburg. After reading the reviews a blessing in disguise.

Best Urologist, Worst Customer Service
The staff is so rude and impatient with total disregard for elderly patients. The lack of empathy is astounding: worst experience ever. Dr. Asase may be the best in his field, but his office is the worst in the business. After our appointment with Asase it was clear that the medical office culture is comes from top.

Great Dr
We went to Dr Asase for a second opinion, and he did more for us in a couple weeks than our previous urologist in Mc Allen did in 5 months, very thorough and explains things very well, a bit of a drive from Edinburgh, but well worth it.

Terrible appt scheduling
My father spent a week in the hospital in early February. His PCP referred him to Asase. However, my father was re-admitted to the hospital on the day of that appointment in early March. In mid-March, my sister called Asase's office and rescheduled that appointment for the end of March. The day before the rescheduled appointment, a staff member called to tell me the appointment would be cancelled due to no PCP visit and notes since the FEBRUARY hospital stay. News to us! And why wait the whole 2 weeks to let us know? We couldn't schedule a PCP visit until early April. Additionally Asase's staff told us we couldn't make another appointment until AFTER the PCP appointment. Why? I was told 'It's a required process.' So many delays! I checked Medicare and Tricare and there us no authorization required so the 'requirements' are only for Asase's unknown purposes. Meanwhile my father suffered. Unacceptable! Finally we decided to switch to a different urologist.

The highest recommencation, but I would go to 10.
Dr. Asase removed a carcinoma that literally filled my bladder. My regular doctor was extremely concerned that it had progressed so much before I complained of pain. Dr. Asase not only successfully removed it, but followed up for nearly a year to insure it would not come back. He has a dry sense of humor, and jokes frequently. I found him to be one of the best doctors I have ever consulted. I cannot recommend him too highly, and would use him again in a flash.

Terrible Experience for Patients
The front office person by the name of Sylvia is very rude and unprofessional to patients. She should be fired! She was scolding my 87 year old dad who is a veteran. My dad was frustrated and wanted to leave. I convinced him to stay for the appointment and I was made to wait outside. I am very disappointed with this doctor's appointment for my dad.

Dr Asase does not respect patients
Dr Asase is disrespectful of his patients time. I had an 08:00 appointment. Waiting room packed. Was called to the check in desk at 08:40 only to find they had me scheduled for another day. Realized all of us had 08:00 appointments and were to wait submissively until Dr Asase appears. So I told the lady to cancel me and I would not be returning. I’m already miffed at the situation and low and behold, as I am leaving the building, there is Dr Asase standing on the sidewalk talking with another person. 08:00 appointment, Dr still not in the office at 08:50.

I have called several times to schedule an appointment and to no avail. One time I was told that they would call me and never got called. The next time I was put on hold for 5 minutes and no one came on the line. The I called Ms de la Fuente and never responded. J Mendoza.

It’s really sad that such a good doctor has a staff particularly front desk receptionist who not only isn’t friendly but not professional either. Each time I’ve had and appointment I’ve wait 3 - 31/2 hours to see Dr Asase for 5 minuets. The Va doesn’t have a urologist and Triwest referee me to him. Who has 3-4 hours to wait past your appointment time?

I visited this Dr. in 2014 and in 2015 and had the greatest satisfaction expected from a Health Practioner. During my first visit the appointment time was well respected. Proper examination was done and detailed explanation given. In my subsequent appointments all was smooth and in a case where the Dr was a little bit delayed elsewhere explanation was always given. My over all impressions of this health facility are very very positive. Keep on with the good work.

It's disappointing to see that the customer service in Dr. Asase's office not match those of the doctor himself. Trying to schedule an appointment for pain and discomfort is impossible. I was given an appointment a month away. 3 calls later they suggested I go to the hospital even though the pain would have been tolerable for a few days and didn't merit a ER visit at the time. The nurse was no help at all either. Horrible customer service!
