Absolute best!
Dr Hansen has been my PCP for many years, and I recommend her to all my friends who also love her. She is extremely knowledgeable, up to date on recent research, empathetic, a great listener, and actually cares about her patients’ well-being. I have complicated illnesses, and she is always trying to get to the bottom of my health issues. She is incredibly smart and has an amazing memory. She is really the best doctor I’ve had!!

Patient and Thorough Doctor
Dr. Hansen has been my PCP for over a decade. Every visit she spends ample time with me and I never feel rushed. I feel she thinks about my health holistically, asking about what is happening in my life overall. I am really happy to have her as my PCP.

Dr Darcy J Hansen is a wonderful phycician!
Dr. Hansen has been my internist for years, and I cannot say enough good things about her. She is brilliant, very competent, compassionate, and genuinely holistic in her approach to her patients. She is always up to date on the most recent literature about a variety of medical conditions. I have noted marked improvements in appointment scheduling and responsiveness of her staff over the last year or so. I highly recommend Dr. Hansen.

My rating depends on your age. Dr. Hansen is a fine physician; I like her a lot. I do not have criticisms of her medical advice, timeliness, or response rate. But if you are working (and of SS age), have private insurance & not using your Medicare, all is fine, but once you stop working for the entity that you retired from that pays your insurance, now Medicare jumps into 1st place & private ins. becomes 2nd, she charges an outrageous amount annually for a so-called concierge fee. You don't get any warning, you are just declared a "new" patient & are tossed to a collection agency that is located on the beach in Santa Barbara, CA. Thus, while Medicare requires your private insurance to be 2nd place, you pay the same amount for less coverage, Medicare doubles the paperwork and adds higher costs to Medicare, and the Santa Barbara concierge service charges another $1,400 a year. Beware! or you will land as a "new" patient for the doc & find yourself with apx triple medical costs.

Extremely knowledgeable and up to date on recent medical studies. She talks to you, not at you. She provides detailed and understandable results re: testing and your visit. My wife and I are thrilled she’s our primary care doctor!

I switched doctors after 20 years to Dr. Hansen and she is fantastic. She clearly continues to study the latest research and shares it with you so you feel like you are part of the decision making. I also love that you can email with her and that her office is SO flexible with hours - my first appointment was in the evening. i also showed up 2 hours early for one of my appointments (my fault on scheduling) and they fit me in since i wasn't going to be able to come at the right time. NP Julia as well as front office staff are lovely.

I will never return to this callous doctor again. I was diagnosed with a condition on Monday. Started meds on Tuesday, and ended up in the ER Wed-Thu. w/ complications. Emailed her on Friday at 6 pm to ask questions and update her, and her response was to chastise me for emailing her on the weekend, and she expressed no concern about my condition. Mind you, I emailed her at the direction of her staff after I called them earlier in the day and her website advertises 24/7 email availability.

As a professional of a national organization in DC, one of my worst fears would-be losing the care of Dr Hansen. For nearly 2 decades, she has always been there - sharing frank, knowledgeable wisdom. Her services are invaluable and very much appreciated. Please don't ever retire! ??

I have had an awful experience since her RN left. The front office staff is rude and will not give you time to say a word before place you on hold for up to 30 minutes-every time you call. Dr. Hansen insisted I have automatic refill activated and then refused to authorize it- saying I needed to come in for another appointment when I had just been there. They charge $30-$45 to fax any medical records for you.
