Dr. David Berkun, MD

We had to switch pediatricians when we moved two years ago for our three children, and I was very nervous about finding a pediatrician as good as the one we left behind. Dr. Berkun was one of the first pediatricians I found and took the time to sit down with me and my family and I knew after that conversation he would be our doctor. In the past 2 years, Dr. Berkun has formed such a good relationship with my children, has excellent bedside manner, and probably most important, has had really sound and wise judgement through both well visits and sick times. He takes the time to explain and gets back to me quickly if I have questions. When I have called after hours with an urgent question, he has always been the one to get back to me himself - something I appreciate very much. His office is wonderful and helpful as well. I am very grateful we found Dr. Berkun as our children's pediatrician and highly recommend him!

Dr. Berkun is an amazing doctor. He has been our pediatrician for our two kids since they were newborns. They are now toddlers and we still take them to Dr. Berkun. He is a dedicated and caring doctor who leaves no stone left unturned when it comes to keeping our kids healthy and getting them back to health when they do fall ill. Our son had a meningitis scare as a newborn and Dr. Berkun was there every step of the way, working after hours, running additional tests, and including the input of other doctors, to make sure our son was well. We love Dr. Berkun and highly recommend him.

We’ve been seeing Dr. Berkun for just over 2 years, he’s been a fantastic doctor for our son. He’s very caring, knowledgeable (answers all of the question thoughtful and makes sure we understand), and the entire practice is great to work with. I would highly recommend Dr. Burkin to all new parents. He has a consummate knowledge on child rearing and has incredible bedside manner.We look forward to each visit as we walk away with far more knowledge than a book could ever teach us.

Dr. Berkun is an amazing pediatrician. He cares so much about his patients. We can always get a hold of him in emergencies and even just for advice when the baby has a fever. He prioritizes his patients and has even met us on weekends when his office is closed. He taught us so much about parenting and has given us the confidence we needed as first time parents. He always types up notes for us to take home so we can follow along with his directions and he spends a lot of time with the baby for each appointment. We never feel rushed.

Dr. Berkun has been our Family Pediatrician since he came to the hospital when I gave birth with my first child 16 years ago. He is one of the only remaining hospitalists that I know of and having that type of relationship with a doctor who cares for your children is extremely important and meaningful. He has been there to support my three children every step of the way including the all important after hours call. Highly recommend.

Dr B is incredible and we regularly recommend him to friends who are looking for a pediatrician. He treats each child as a unique individual and truly takes the time to understand and treat them accordingly. Ample time is taken to make sure the parents have all their questions answered. We've never felt rushed and truly couldn't ask for anything more from our child's doctor. We feel lucky to have found such a caring and knowledgable doctor.

On average we wait 15-20 minutes from our appointment time to be taken to a room. Once there a nurse wil take care of initial set of questions, about 15 minutes. We then wait approximately another 30 minutes in the room before Dr. Berkun makes an appearance and then he recovers all the same questions again and wants to spend 30+ minutes going over items (this is great but after waiting 45 minutes for the appointment I’m over it and my kids have been over it). This has repeated multiple times over the years and I’m realizing it’s time to move on. If you value your time he is not the Dr for you.

Dr. Berkun is our trusted Pediatrician for both of my children and has been there for us for well visits, sick visits and even urgent responses when my son suffered from croup. I appreciate that he knows my children so well and provides a thorough examination and check up. Unlike other offices with multiple Pediatricians where you don't know who will be caring for your child, Dr. Berkun provides the 1:1 care that is so important as your child grows and develops. I whole heartedly recommend!

Super thorough, cares for the entire family. Spends time educating the parents and ensuring you're equipped. Will always go the extra mile. A very special doctor!!

Dr. Berkun has taken care of my kids for years. He knows his stuff. When one of my kids was little, we brought them to an after hours walk-in clinic, and none of the doctors had any idea what was going on, but the following day Dr. Berkun knew right away what it was. Another time, Dr. Berkun detected a fairly rare issue with my other child and the specialist couldn't believe that my pediatrician picked up on it. So to have this happen multiple times, when Dr. Berkun took the time to be thorough enough to pick up on things that other doctors would miss, it means that I am very impressed with him.

Dr. Berkun gives committed, focused, undivided attention unlike any doctor I’ve ever met. He does not rush you out of the room, takes all of your concerns seriously no matter how trivial you may think they are, and he really gets to know you and your whole family to give the best care possible. The only downside is that because of his uniquely impeccable care for his patients, he does run late so each visit takes about an hour if not an hour and a half. Regardless, I still go to him because of the top notch care I receive for my children.

Dr Berkun is the best doctor. We've known him for a very long time. He really cares about his patients, he's always calm, very respectful, takes the time to hear our concerns and takes the time to explain, we never felt rushed. He ensures that he answers all our questions. Emergency calls are answered very quick. It's a blessing to have Dr. Berkun caring for our son until he's grown up. We are really grateful to Dr. Berkun and his team.

I was pregnant with my identical twin girls when I was shopping around for a pediatrician. My OB/GYN recommended Stamford Pediatrics and I checked them out, both Stamford and Darien I couldn't get an appointment and when I asked around people liked one dr. in particular but he was never available the others specialized in tweens and teens and we needed a Dr. that knew babies well especially multiples since we are first time parents. I Googled for a pediatrician and found Dr. Berkun. His reviews are awesome and I'm glad I can contribute to them. I also saw he was in-network with my insurance. ALL the reviews were correct about Dr. Berkun. He listens, he gives you time and he is always available to answer questions and be there for you. I don't regret going to him we continue to see him he is amazing and I feel blessed knowing my babies have him as their Dr. Yes, the wait times can be long, but that's only because he takes ALOT of care in seeing his patients. He is worth the wait!!!

A neighbor recommended Dr. Berkun and his practice when we moved to the area. We couldn't be more impressed - Dr. Berkun takes a tremendous amount of time with us at each visit, and is exceedingly thorough and exacting. He is a source of practical, sensible advice based on his decades of experience. What's more, our whole family now sees the APRNs at High Ridge Family Practice for our primary care. We highly recommend this practice and Dr. Berkun.

Dr. Berkun is an amazing pediatrician and a rare individual who clearly cares about and enjoys every aspect of his job. As first-time parents, my wife and I were extremely careful in selecting a pediatrician, and we couldn't have dreamed of a better choice. Dr. B is incredibly thorough, makes sure to answer every one of our questions (doesn't rush you out of his office like some doctors), and has gone above and beyond for our son numerous times (including coming into the office to see us on his day off). I couldn't recommend someone more highly than Dr. B!

As first time parents, my wife & I have been extremely happy with using Dr. Berkun as our pediatrician. From pregnancy, to birth, to our check up visits, he has taken the time to address any questions or concerns we've had, which has made us a lot more comfortable throughout this process. He has been very helpful in guiding us and giving us advice in areas such as feeding schedules and sleep training, which has made parenting a lot easier on us. We would highly recommend him.

Doctor Berkun is a top-notch pediatrician. When our daughter was born, he personally made a visit to the hospital on multiple occasions to make sure everything was going fine with mother and baby. He is caring and thoughtful, and very well experienced. A week before Mom gave birth, we took a child CPR course, highly recommended! Dr. Berkun’s instructions are clear and has no problem going over procedures a few times to make you feel comfortable. He along with his staff are all very friendly. High Ridge Family Practice is a warm and inviting place, we always feel so comfortable there. The doctor and nurses always take copious notes, and as a patient you have the ability to view them all online so you can refer back to. Dr. Berkun and nurses are always happy to answer any questions you may have, we always ask a million questions and yet we never feel to be rushed out of the room, they always take time for us to go over all of our questions and help to provide us with insightful answers.

We have had Dr. B as our 5 year old son's doctor since he was a baby. Thorough, informative and always professional. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an experienced pediatrician!

Dr. Berkun is our daughter's pediatrician and we could not be happier with the care that he has provided for her. We first met Dr. Berkun at a pre-natal appointment, which I highly recommend that any prospective parents/patients schedule. At this appointment, we learned about Dr. Berkun's philosophy of care and how the practice works. As a first time parent, Dr. Berkun's methodical approach has put me at ease. Our daughter was born in July of 2020 and Dr. Berkun was at the hospital each day to examine her. Not only is Dr. Berkun a wonderful practitioner, but he also is a great teacher and has taught us general symptoms to look for so we could manage our first time parent anxiety - not every sneeze is an emergency!
