I was referred to Dr. Columbus for hip pain and numbness in my lower leg. He referred me to a orthopedic doctor for my hip pain. I didn't make an appointment due to his poor ratings. He said he could fix my numbness with shots in my spine. He asked if I wanted local or general anesthesia. He said the pain would only be from the local injections and that I wouldn't need to have a designated driver on the injection day. I chose local. When I went in for the injections, the discomfort for pain injections was what I expected. But the pain from the steroid injections was fierce 7+! I was then put in recovery for an hour and when the nurse came in to stand me up for release, I fell on the floor. I had no strength in my knee. Dr Columbus said "this happens sometimes" with a smile. Now they wouldn't release me to drive home until I could walk normally. My wife had no transportation to get me. After about 3 more hours they released me- I drove home with 1 foot for brake 1 for the accelerator.

I was referred to Dr. Columbus by the VA in 2019 because I was looking to continue a back treatment that I had been receiving in Nashville. Unfortunately, he was unable to perform that treatment due to a medical billing code not existing for the treatment. I went to another pain doctor that offered a secondary treatment that he did not for about a year and a half. I started to have reactions to that treatment and the doctor ignored me once I indicated I was going to stop. I got another referral to Dr. Columbus but he refused to see me since I had gone to another pain doctor. I have never run into this before and I can't imagine it is common practice. I wanted to go back to him because he seemed to want to help as much as he could and seemed very knowledgeable. At this point, I would avoid him as he clearly cares more for his ego than treating patients.

Great, caring and compassionate Doctor. Dr. Columbus listens to my concerns and addresses them in terms that are easy to understand. A Doctor who doesn't just prescribe opiate based medications and send you on your way. Minimal use of "pain killers". He tries other therapies that are far less addictive. Great bedside manner!

Disappointed at best. Took me a month to get in to see this doctor. It was determined that yes, I do need a spinal injection. That was going to be another six weeks. In the meantime I was not given any kind of pain medication other than an ice pack and told to take acetaminophen. What part of pain management is not understood?

I have been seeing Dr Columbus since 2016. He takes his time with each patient and occasionally he runs a little late. He gives great care and he will give you options about pain management.

Dr. Columbus certainly is an expert at pain relief. I had injections in my lower back, and he supported my decision not to have sedation. (Honestly, the blood pressure cuff was worse!). I felt much better immediately and was able to go home right away.

My Primary Doc referred me to Dr.Columbus in 2011 for my Chronic pain.Dr.Columbus is the first pain Dr that told me I really did have problems,I wasn't crazy, and that he could help me,the first 1 out of a slew of Drs I saw!He didn't just shove a bunch of pills at me and tell me to come back in a month. He actually took the time to read my ever growing file,to get to know me& my problems and he listed!Seven years later,I'm still going to him and the treatments I do are still working!4ever Greatful

Great pain management doctor. Has an awesome sense of humor, listens and answers any questions I had/have. I have seen Dr. Columbus and his PA for a couple years now, and they patiently walked me through everything we tried. Ended up with a spinal cord stimulater, and it's the best thing we have tried. Would definitely recommend this doctor.

This man was horrible! He told me I shouldn't have any pain even though I have scoliosis which leaves me in tears after work. I waited over an hour and a half and he didn't even examine me! He just looked at my X-rays and told me to do yoga. I left in tears. His nurse wasn't surprised and told me to get a second opinion. The nurses know best and she seemed to have seen this before.

Staff was extremely short-tempered and rude. I waited 8 weeks for an appointment, then waited 20 minutes in the exam room for Dr. Columbus. He was right outside the door chit-chatting. He did a 0.5 second exam before giving his opinion as fast as an auctioneer, then spent the rest of the visit telling me about his upcoming vacation.
