I saw this doctor years back at a very low point in my life. I had suffered from chronic pain and depression, seeking the mental health side with Dr. Frankel. He seemed to know nothing about psychiatry, was quick to prescribe before even listening to the problem, he would go on rants about his time in the army, his family, and women he dated. He commented on my looks many times. He made me uncomfortable. Why did I keep going? Because I was 20 and he was overprescribing me pain medication, and at the time I was near suicidal from a complicated physical illness. He would even say "What do you need?" It was encouraged, and he'd write prescription strengths that other doctors have been horrified by. My body became dependent on drugs this doctor had no understanding of but wrote for me anyway. He bad mouthed his other patients to me, ridiculing them. This guy should not have a medical license. I'm lucky I had better doctors get me off the many medications Dr. Frankel put me on.

He really needs to get an email address or something of that matter those patients can reach him at because he’s only in the office Tuesdays and Thursdays and it’s literally impossible to get a hold of him any other day and sometimes it’s impossible to get a hold of him on those days as well like right now I’ve been trying to get a hold of him all day because there has been a serious mixup with my medications and he is the only one that has the power to fix it. Now I have to go almost an entire week without my medications which I’m pretty sure can be dangerous and for some reason he called my prescriptions in to a pharmacy two hours away from my home. When I called the pharmacy two hours away they basically told me that it’s not their problem and if I want my medications I’m gonna have to make a two hour trip to get them but they won’t have them ready until next week anyway and conveniently I do not have a car. DR. FRANKEL IF YOU SEE THIS PLEASE EMAIL ME IMMEDIATELY.

I will recommend him to anyone... however due to the government health system he had to retire from one of his offices.. and because of that my mental health has gotten me 302 5 times since may 2018.. if you get a chance with him dont ever allow the government to take him from you... good luck... thank you for all you done for me dr. Beware! Prescribed before diagnosing. Never diagnosed me or talked. Just wrote scripts for 10 mins and sent me on my way. Wrote 3 mo's of scripts each appt (illegal). Gave me antidepressants, mood stabilizers, sleeping pills, benzos, ADD meds- at the same time. New doc told me one of my meds was 6x the max that should be prescribed. Once talked the whole time about his time practicing at a mental institution and how crazy the people were, and LAUGHED about a woman who tried to commit suicide.

biography

Perhaps the most important thing I can think of is that I have been around for such a long time, now, and have seen much, I am able to see what should be considered excellent psychiatry.
