Negative for my husband. Dr? Friedland gave up hope for my beloved husband and would not even return phone calls or emails.

Got cancer? Get Friedland!
If you must deal with cancer, go see this physician. The office staff is polite, friendly, and efficient. Dr Friedland himself is extremely knowledgeable, listens intently, and answered all our questions. He went out of his way to make the necessary referrals to his colleagues. His bedside manner is quite good as he put us at ease and told us directly the various treatment options. He explained everything in easy to follow laymen’s terms. We left his office with a sense of optimism as we are confident the he and UPMC are quite capable and will continue to provide the best of care. While there are no guarantees in life, you can improve your odds by getting professionals on your side. We did, and consider ourselves very fortunate because Dr Friedland and his team are simply the best.

I have been a patient of Dr. Friedland since 2010 due to prostate cancer. If it's possible to enjoy seeing your oncologist, I can make that claim. Dr. Friedland has been highly professional and has really been my "quarterback" in my continued treatment of my prostate cancer. I highly value his opinions and am so happy that I had been referred to him over 10 years ago.

Dr Friedland has been treating my fathers advanced prostrate cancer and has work tirelessly to afford my father a good quality of life while being moderately aggressive with treatments. My fathers cancer. is held at bay and has improved. Dr Friedland is great with my 84 year old father. Is respectful and spends as much time as necessary with him. I would highly recommend him!

I would never send anyone I cared about to this physician. He completely missed the boat with my brother's cancer diagnosis. After telling him he had very little cancer, we buried him 2 months later. Turns out, the cancer that was barely there was very aggressive in nature. Seems to me, you should know the aggressiveness of a cancer by the biopsy report. The outcome may have been the same but at least my brother would not have endured 2 grueling surgeries in a futile effort to save his life.

Dr. Friedland is a great doctor if you want someone to be very direct. However he lacks a bedside manner. When I met him for the first time the first thing out of his mouth was well we are gonna start you on chemo as soon as possible! Not how are you or tell me a little about yourself. He did nothing to quell the fear and anxiety that I had at that first visit. He also lacks the ability to remember conversations he has had with you and to properly relay information to the schedulers. thumbs down

My Mom has been a cancer patient of Dr. Friedland's at the Hillman Cancer Center for many years. He is fantastic. He spends a lot of time listening to his patients. He is incredibly well-versed in oncology and makes his patients feel at ease. He offers sound advice and focuses on the well-being of his patients in addition to their quality of life. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
