Minimal downtime following medial meniscectomy
I am nearly 60 and play competitive tennis at a 4.5 USTA level. I tore my medial meniscus while playing, and Dr. G was able to schedule me for a partial meniscectomy less than 2 weeks later. I expected a 4-to-6-week recovery (which Dr. G said is typical), but was back to playing tennis just 5 days after the surgery (with Dr. G's authorization) with essentially no discomfort, weakness, swelling or instability. For context, the MRI report characterized my tear as a 'horizontal tear involving the entire thickness posterior horn medial meniscus surfacing on the tibial side extending to the adjacent body,' with the medial meniscus 'extruded underneath bulged MCL.'The staff that handled surgery scheduling and prep was very helpful and responsive.

Dr. Gazzaniga has been my doctor for over 15 years. He has performed surgery on my shoulders and knee, and has done a great job on all three. I would highly recommend him. He is one of the best doctors I have ever known.

Knee Surgery
I highly recommend Dr. Gazzaniga. He was careful and patient in his diagnosis, did a great job on my surgery and explained what he did and why.

Little respect
First encounter, I’d shattered Tibial plateau in a fall. He was going to repair it, but no OR that day. Instead, a foot and ankle specialist, NOT a knee Dr. did the surgery since Dr. G left on vacation. That repair fell apart 2 yrs later and I had to have knee replaced full knee replacement by a different, wonderful knee specialist, Dr. Nassif. Two years ago, back at Dr. Gazzaniga. Total tear right rotator cuff. He gave 3 options: PT, corticosteroid injection, or surgery. I chose the injection and was thrilled. No pain for over two years. I have been in excruciating pain for weeks now, decided to do the surgery. Dr. Gazzaniga won’t even see me, I’m considered a “ new patient after two years!” So, the bum’s rush a second time! This after 7 surgeries and countless procedures in the past 11 years. NOI is going downhill. Last injection wasn’t Even an MD. They are now hiring DOs. Dos injection did zero good at alleviating pain!

No care or concern…period. Beware!
Worst experience at a Medical office. We were never able to see the Dr. Only an PT and now we are facing a much more serious issue and have moved to another medical practice. Unfortunately it seems Dr Gazzaniga is more interested and focused on his NFL medical career than he is in his in practices patient’s. Now we are facing replacement surgery and more. Three visits and not a single one with the Dr which we continued to request. We were always told he was traveling and at least three weeks out. First visit as we waited, a women was screaming about her frustration with the Dr and office. We unfortunately underestimated the truth of her complaint and frustration. Our last visit saw two patients leave frustrated. We are still in disbelief regarding the extreme lack of care and concern. Never a visit or a phone call from the Dr. This situation is absolutely disgraceful!

Lazy, best way to describe his diagnosis, which almost led to my daughter not being able to pursue her dream - which was just realized in a scholarship to the #9 ranked rowing team in the country. Turned out, all she needed was more intense stretching for her hip, nothing structurally was wrong. In a twist of irony, the PT place we eventually were referred to is in the same building as Gazzaniga. But after one visit, no MRI, no PT, Dr. G said to just give up rowing. Lazy. Go see Dr. Kruse at the Orthopaedic Specialty Institute for someone who will take time and be persistent in trying all means possible to solve your problem. He won't be lazy.

Dr G is one of the best doctors I have ever encountered. He actually cares about his patients. He is very knowledgeable and efficient. He also goes above an beyond when he doesn’t have to. I have had multiple knee surgeries and I also work in the medical field. He is hands down one of the best. I would recommend him to anyone & everyone.

Have not yet had surgery - but when time comes around for it, Dr. Gazzaniga will be my number 1 choice. Calm and nice personality along with very knowledgeable. Dr. being confident to be able to fix my issues and return to high level sports will make my decision very easy!!!

My initial visit took over two hours, about 1:40 of that time waiting. My diagnosis was frozen shoulder, and the follow-up directions given were to wait for a phone call to schedule a corticosteroid injection. Three days later I hadn’t received a phone call, so I called the office. Turns out Dr. Gazzaniga had forgotten to request the submission of the authorization of the shot. 5 days after the visit, not at all impressed.

Dr Gazzaniga and his team are hands down amazing!!! I’ve unfortunately had to have 3 surgeries with Dr G, but each and every time he made me feel very comfortable and took very good care of me, while also making sure I understood what was happening. His bed side manners are absolutely amazing, anyone who disagrees seriously should check themselves. Hope not to have anymore surgeries but if I do, Dr Gazzaniga is the man for the job! Thank you for everything. Femoral hip impingement labrum tear

They called me the same day as my appointment to come 1 hour earlier due to Dr's scheduling problems. Then after keeping me waiting for 1 hour they told me the Dr was gone for the day! He has no respect for his patients.

Dr. Gazzaniga is highly skilled, very kind, and incredibly trustworthy. He is on the less talkative side so you need to have your questions ready. He gives you the necessary information-- just very succinctly. My ACL surgery recovery was very speedy, I believe, because of the skill of Dr. Gazzaniga.

I'm on the border about Dr. Gazzaniga. I had broke a bone and was referred here and he was the first doctor that could get me in. He was very kind, but he skimmed over my xrays taken in the office and didn't see a fracture. After looking at the xrays my General doctor had taken, THEN he confirmed the break! Then told me it would have to heal on it's own and nothing needed to be done. 4 weeks later, I don't think it's healing, but getting worse.

I went to him because I was still having lots of pain and limited movement in my left arm and shoulder after months of physical therapy. I had seen a more local Orthopedist, and had an MRI and a steroid injection.Dr. Gazzaniga came highly recommend by another physician. Almost immediately started to ball me out for coming. (As if a long drive and co payments weren't enough). He kept checking his phone during my visit and left the room without explanation.
