EMG
I was referred to Dr. Gilber for an EMG. It was so refreshing to meet a doctor who was very human and did not seem to have an enlarged ego! He answered all my questions, explained the procedure, and told me about the results and what to expect after the test. Very nice personality and I would definitely recommend Dr. Gilber.

This dr is the most caring neuro I have ever dealt with. In my 35 years seeing a neuro for myasthenia gravis he’s tops ! He listens , doesn’t cut you off. He thinks, and puts in extra effort to try to give you the life back that’s been taken from you by nasty form of MD.

Nice enough” but I did not feel heard or validated in any way. I left his office both times feeling alone & dismissed. On first visit at the end of, It was stated “ Your old for a MS diagnosis” and first words to me were “Give me a 20 second or less synopsis of your symptoms”. Upon my 2nd visit ( my primary health Dr. transferred care due to abnormal scan), I felt very unheard and discouraged upon leaving office. His last words at the door “ You look good” to which I commented “I don’t feel good!” In sickness, looks can be deceiving at times ! Why is quality care such a rare thing today? He was nice but I honestly do not think he cared enough to sit down and really listen. Schedule too busy?? I had more attentiveness from his intern. Nothing worse than feeling all alone leaving a specialist office.

Very poor clinician. I too had a spinal tap that he never sent fluid to be tested. He is very condescending and tries to lead you to the answer he wants when assessing. Made me feel like I wasn’t important and my problem was “no dig deal”. Very poor communication when trying to contact the office to be seen, will be contacted by his nurse the next day and be prescribed a pill instead of being allowed to have a face to face appt. Definitely would not recommend!

He gave me a lumbar puncture and he did not send the fluid he took from my spine for any kind of testing. None of the 5 doctors I saw after him could believe that he did not send it for testing. Plus I was misdiagnosed.

Love him! He’s open to my desire to treat my MS more naturally and doesn’t make me feel stupid like so many neurologists have attempted to do in the past. Super easy going and personable too. He’s been my dr for 12 years now and I can’t say enough good things about him.

I saw Dr Gelber when I was just finding out what was going on with me. Before my Lumbar puncture he was about 80% sure that I had signs of MS. When the LP came back normal he brushed me off and said lets just see you back in a year and if anything changes let me know. I was not comfortable with that and went and got a second opinion. After they looked at all my records and met with me I was officially diagnosed. Thankfully, I went to someone else because I have had multiple relapses. Terrible!

We tried to get my husband in twice to see Dr Gelber, and all they could say was that the Dr couldn’t help him, without any other explanation. I would not recommend him to anyone that is seeking immediate answers.

Was told at first appointment by Dr. Gelber "that we are are going to get this figured out" in regards to my numbness, pain and memory problems. Completed a neurological examination and failed so Dr. Gelber ordered a spinal tap . It came back normal and I just got a call today saying that there is nothing else that Dr. Gelber can do for me since the tap was normal and I have to go back to my primary doctor despite the concerning neuro exam to be referred elsewhere. Felt abandoned and misled .

This office has had several staffing changes in the past two years, resulting in poorly kept records, mistakes and long wait times for labs and Dr's notes not documented. Nerve studies were done on he wrong limbs due to lack of documentation by Dr.

Dr Gelber runs his appointments exactly on time, no waiting. Dr explained everything about my stroke, in great detail. The stroke team at St Johns hospital was a joke compaired to Gelber. He answered all of my questions, did not rush me, and his office was a great help on follow up questions by phone. Dr Gelber also treats my step-daughter for MS. She lives on the east coast and travels back here just to continue seeing Gelber. New appointments are 8 months out. He is in high demand.
