Thank Dr. German for your compassion & skill
I was referred to Dr. German by my physician when I was dealing with a double blow of a death in my immediate family and break-up with long-term partner, Dr German gently helped me look at myself honestly and what I needed to do to take control of my health and life vs. wallowing in blame and disappointment. I saw him for a few years and felt I had the foundation to move on which I did very successfully. Though my financial means were not great, his fees were a small sum to regain my mental health. With me, he was not overly direct in what I should do. He pulled it out of me in a subtle way that was very effective and made me regain my self reliance.

Helped Me A Lot
I found him a highly trained and very competent and empathic doctor. I looked him up and he has the kind of training few psychiatrists have nowadays. I was very grateful to the referrer. And I had really bad anxiety.

Fantastic
Been with him for many many years and you will not find a more caring and professional doctor. Really takes the time to listen and provide advise based on what you tell him.

Being a middle aged person that has needed the services of a psychiatrist since my youth means that I have a lot of experience with providers of this type. I can firmly say to you without a doubt that Dr. G is hands down the worst that I have ever in my life worked with. However his fees ($600 for an evaluation and $300 for a basic check in) are the highest fees I have ever heard of or paid for these services. A $100 internal / family medicine guy can meet or beat him.

My advice- take a hard pass on this one. Prior to utilizing Dr. German I got my medications prescribed by my general physician. When I left Dr. German I went to a Kaiser Permanente provider. I am shocked to say the KP provider got better results, made better suggests, and was a better listener. In my opinion Dr. German capitalizes on people's fear of drugs. Dr. German obsesses about getting you on the fewest drugs and the lowest dose possible. But if you go with him be prepared- he is not results/goal oriented. I complained to him for years about erectile disfunction. The new provider prescribed Cialis for that in the first meeting. if I ever wanted him to change anything I had to practically make a powerpoint presentation and go in there. The new KP guy changed my dosage in our first meeting. I truly feel like a new perfect person since I left Dr. German's practice. Additionally his personality can be rather arrogant. He has a tendency dismiss anything you say.

My experience with Dr. German was nothing more than a horrendous miserable failure. He came highly recommended and his costs were astronomically high so I really had high hopes for him. He overplays his hand when it comes to medicine, he thinks his ways and methods are the best and will work beautifully. However they many times do not. When they do not work, he does not care, he will not listen, he will not step up to the plate and make it right. He clings to his ideas to the end. I would call his style"RMS Titanic".

Not a good doctor, not a good man. Selfish and arrogant. Grotesquely expensive.

He is a D.O. he refuses to prescribe many drugs. He would be considered an alternative medicine provider in my opinion. He charges $275.00 for a 25 minute appointment and his results are equal to or worse than what my general practitioner got for me. He is not a proactive provider. Very complacent with the status quo. He will not ever increase, change, etc your meds- you will have to pressure him hard- even if it is NOT working. He does not listen to my feedback!
