Had a knee replacement preformed by Dr. Hoffman that turned out to be a life altering nightmare. I’ve been an amputee due to his surgical practices for about 15 years now. I find it difficult to forgive such horrendous practice. I would strongly advise against seeking his surgical assistance.

Exceptional experience and incredible service. Hip replacement really relieved the pain and after one week my hip is much better. I appreciate that Dr Hoffman took the time and patience for me, especially since there was a delay with Covid in early 2020. His staff is super helpful and efficient. I’m glad to be out of pain and ready for Spring Gardening 2021

Had a knee replacement done in Mn replaced in early 2020 due to infection. Dr Hoffman did the needed surgery the next day. Had a spacer put in and 2nd surgery delayed due to Covid 19. Was in for 2nd surgery as soon as they could get me in. Went home and had outside traumatic accident and back for 3rd surgery. Dome the next day. Very caring, rather gruff manner but tells it as he sees it. I'm a nurse so I know all the medical shorthand and could 'cut to the chase'. He answered all my questions and continually encouraging.

My experience was good in the beginning but ended up very disappointing. I've had a loose body floating in my knee for about 7 years. Finally went in and saw this doctor. Got x-rays and and MRI and we both identified the piece on his computer and planned for surgery on a Wednesday. Post surgery, I was expecting him or someone to come in and debrief me on how its went. Neither he or a surgical asst. ever came into my room to discuss. My follow up was scheduled for the following Tuesday. I was never contacted in between surgery and the follow up. I went into my follow up 5 days later thinking the surgery maybe wasn't complete because I started to feel something still in my knee. I showed up only to finally have Dr. Hoffman tell me he couldn't find ANYTHING. No real explanation other than it may have been absorbed even though I expressed I started feeling it again. He suggested going back in to try again, NO WAY! So disappointed. Trying to get it back to normal and getting other recommend

Dr. Hoffman performed hip replacement surgery on my right hip. My experience with Dr. Hoffman from my first appointment through the surgery and recovery was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

I saw Dr. Hoffman for chronic hip pain. I was a runner and started having a clicking sensation and pain with walking. Since my X-ray was normal, we did PT for six weeks. Didn’t help. Then instead of doing more imaging we did a joint injection. Didn’t help. Then we finally did an MRI. He did not even look at my report and barely looked at the images before telling me it was just bursitis and to do more PT. Did another 6 weeks of PT. I finally came to my sense and saw someone else. He looked at my MRI and immediately saw an area “of concern.” We did one more injection to confirm it was a labral tear- and it was. Over a year later I finally got this figured out and I’m getting surgery. I would avoid Dr. Hoffman if you can.

Missed diagnosis – Nov 19, 2019

I worked for Dr. Hoffman May years ago for about seven years and have been a patient of his as needed for about thirty years. He has done surgery on both my knees and my wrists and is extremely experienced and great at what he does. In addition, he is an all around wonderful and very companionate person! I will OZbLy see him for orthopedic problems even though I drive all from wheeling and would recommend him to any family or friend. I trust him completely and I know him very well so he is very worthy of that trust!! He’s the best there is in my opinion!!! Five stars and if I could give more, I would without any hesitation!!!!!

Dr. Hoffman is the best. Being a klutz all of my life, I have had quite a few encounters with orthopaedic surgeons & surgeries. He has given sound advice on my knee (with arthritis & numerous other issues). In addition, he repaired my husband's multiple fracture hip, with excellent followup care. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He's the real deal for knees & hips.

David Hoffmann has replaced both my hips, in 2015 and 2017. I could not ask for better care on both occasions. There isn't hip replacement without a scar. All the nurses and therapists who took care of dressing the incision were almost amazed at how small and neat they are.

Dr. Hoffman is an EXCELLENT Orthopedic surgeon! I had my left knee 6/13/13. I can honestly say I have not experience ANY negative residual effects post surgery. Dr. Hoffman made an assessment, told me his diagnosis and surgery was the last thing he suggested. I eventually had my quality of life restored and due to the surgery, his great bedside manner and his post care I will be returning for my right knee surgery this summer.I have also referred friends, who had surgery also with him

Dr. Hoffman is a world class practitioner in his specialty. He did my hip replacement in August 2016, and I could not have asked for better care; careful listening on his part, as well as complete and careful explanations, genuine concern, and a great sense of humor. I trust his judgement and decisions, and he has proven to be correct in every aspect of my treatment. I recommend him without reservation, to anyone who is looking for an astute and exceptionally experienced doctor.

I personally would not recommend this Dr.: 1.) Spends very little time with you 2.) Doesn't answer questions 3.) Doesn't explain procedures 4.) Doesn't visit you after surgery 5.) Can't fix his surgery that failed (1st hand account) 6.) Staff is difficult to reach 7.) Thinks everything is funny and hysterical 8.) Do your research about this Dr. ahead of time 8.) There are other Dr.s in this practice, go to any of them!
