Dr. David Jerkins, MD

Prior to my mastectomy I met with Dr Jerkins to discuss options. I emphasized my desire to be smaller sized not to g et a lot of fill in tissue expander and a reduction on non cancer side since my health didn't allow a dbl mastectomy. Four months after the surgery a blood vessel ruptured and turned my breast black. I thought it warranted a visit. Dr. J was dismissive about the breast coloration. I decided to ask about the increasingly painful and misshapen mastectomy reconstructed breast. He chuckled and laughed and half h e artery offed some more liposuction. Not satisfied I went to UIHC... I had a grade 4 capsulotomyv and definitely require another surgery.

I needed to find a surgeon that would fix my failed lift, implant exchange, botched appearance, adding a tummy tuck. This was less than a year later. Dr. Jerkins was the guy! He and his nurse spent time with me during the first consult explaining the procedures and what to expect during/after surgery. He answered all of my questions during that consult. Without judgement, he listened to my concerns and what my expectations were. I went to another consult elsewhere and ultimately chose Jerkins. The nurses were awesome as well. Communication was fairly simple though the patient message portal. Anytime I had questions or make last minute changes before and during recovery, I would get a response right away. I also feel like I could ask them anything! They were just so nice! I am 8 weeks post op and am cleared to go back to my normal activities. I feel so much better about myself and am super pleased with my results. Even my husband thinks I look great. I Highly recommend!

Underwent a Basil Cell Carcinoma Surgery which left me with a Lack of nose down to Nostrils. My reconstruction was "successful" but left me with Uneven Eye Brow Lines and a 1/4 inch thick Wad of skin Scar Tissue between my eyebrows which Dr. said would "Rub Out", not so much. I was looking for Not Frightening children in Public with the Lord Voldemort nose, but noticeably scarred from a distance was not an expectation either.

My wife had Spontaneous compartment syndrome witch required a Fasciectomy that was unable to be closed. Dr. Jerkins performed a rather large skin graft needed to close her leg. Dr. Jerkins took my wife and I step by step through the procedure he going to perform and what care was needed after the surgery at the hospital and at home. Dr. Jerkins skills exceed what you would expect out of a specialist. Dr. Jerkins office staff was amazing as well, very helpful and friendly.
