Very grateful to have had Dr. Kopman as my anesthesiologist. I felt comfortable with him the minute I met him. Kind, caring and very willing to tailor his approach to meet my needs at a very stressful time for me. I knew I was in good hands, thank you Dr. Kopman!

Uncaring, unfeeling incompetent
Unfortunately when you have anesthesiology for surgery, you do not get to have a choice in the person who induces you. I met with Dr. Kopman and prior to my surgery and I knew instantly he was trouble. My past surgeries were always troublesome with respect to anesthesia but I have managed the experience with competent providers. Dr. Kopman would not listen to me or help me or provide any guidance for my procedure. I told him about allergies and sensitivities and he simply ignored them. As a result I am left with surgical PTSD. I am psychologically damaged and will have to have months of therapy. If you are ever at Weill Cornell having surgery and Dr. Kopman is presented as your anesthesiologist. Get up and run away as fast you can. I wish I had!

I happened to have had another surgery recently that he compared the anesthesia used for my back surgery to. He has a warm, caring stance and addressed the nausea I had woken up with in the other surgery. With this back surgery, I woke up pleasantly surprised with a lower level of pain than expected. His resident also well instructed me on what to expect. Job well done!
