I have lumbar degeneration with sciatica and weakness in the left leg. Lots of pain that affects my sleep. Dr. Mazin asked if my leg ever felt like it wouldn't support me and I said yes, I had stayed home from work the previous day because of it...I was limping around. But apparently I am oversensitive to the pain due to fibromyalgia. If I increase my activity level I will sleep better. Was not receptive to my taking a leave or short term disability from work. Not even 24 hrs later my leg gave out at work. But I will be sure to increase my activity level, sir.

Highly recommend Dr Mazin. I've had several injections in my shoulder along with Physical Therapy. Always great results. Great bedside manner. Answered all my questions. Easy to make appointments. His secretary always returns calls in a timely manner.

This is by far the WORSE experience I have had with a doctor. I had read al the negative reviews about Dr. Mazin but still went with him since he was referred by my PCP. My appt was only scheduled for 15 mins, which I thought was strange but what was even mpre shocking was that it did not last more than 7 mins. He asked me why I was sent to him and what questions I had!! If I knew what was wrong with me why would I even be there! He did not even try to explain my MRI report to me! I had done some research and asked him a few questions and he was extremely dismissive- he had already made up his mind that this was a waste of his time since no surgical intervention was needed and that I should just get physical therapy. I don't expect all doctors to have the best bed side manner, but I expect them to do their jobs i.e. Explain the diagnosis to the patient, discuss what the cause could be, what the treatment options are and explain what the prognosis is. He did none of that.

My first visit was in June. I received shots in both hips for severe pain. When I received on of the shots in my right hip, one of them almost made me jump off the table. Since that shot my right hip got progressively worse. I received another regiments of shot directly to my right hip, on July 7th. Since that shot, the pain has become unbearable. On July 28th I couldn’t stand the pain anymore so I’m called Dr. Maxin’s office. He was on vacation and would be back until August 2nd. I called his office at 8:15 on the morning of August 2nd. No answer. I had to leave a message with his nurse. I never got a return call. I called again at 10:15. Again, no answer. I left another message. Finally at 12:00 I got a call from his nurse. She was very sympathetic. As I expected, no call. I find him very uncaring. He has no bedside manner. He seems very unconcerned. He has the personality of aWhat kind of doctor gets a message that they have a patient n severe pain and not bother to call them back.

This guy is worthless . My wife had a telemedicine visit with him last month. I am a retired internist with 35 years experience. He was cavalier, arrogant, totally unprofessional a disgrace to our profession. He failed to get back to us after my wife got the recommended x rays he ordered.

Talk about a waste of time. While he did agree to see me even though I was late which I appreciated, he gave me 5 minutes to express my medical concern even though he already had his mind made up about it. Then proceeded to pacify me and tell me he wanted to see me in 6 weeks. He acted as though I was totally uneducated and wasting his time. Literally one of the worst experiences with a physician

I have never been to a doctor that had worst bedside manner than Dr. Mazin. He needs to go to bedside manner classes. Not one smile and rude. Condescending also. Would never recommend him to anyone and if I had to go to someone for my neck problem for surgery I would definitely not go to him and go in to Boston.

Dr. Mazin was the consummate engaged professional at every encounter. He asked incisive questions, articulated his thoughts and medical opinions with absolute clarity in both lay and medical terms, and all the while expressing genuine sympathy for my condition. I came away from every consultation with Dr. Mazin with a feeling of categorical confidence that I was in the hands of a physician who knows his profession at the highest levels of skill. I highly recommended Dr. David Mazin.

I had a hip injection today by Dr. Mazin. At my first appointment? I found him to be professional and he was spot on with his diagnosis. I read reviews criticizing his bedside manner. Having a physician direct, to the point, and reliving my pain is what I wanted in my doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Mazin. Following his instructions and sticking to his plan, is instrumental in helping myself. Extremely happy that my doctor recommended him!

I saw Dr. Mazin 2 times toward the beginning of 2016. I have severe degenerative disc disease, which causes me to live with pain every single day. The first time I saw him, the first thing he said was "How come you've had so many surgeries on your spine?" He didn't have a clue what to do with me!! He was VERY rude with absolutely NO empathy. I truly believe he doesn't know what he's doing!! He's NOT an asset to UMass Memorial Medical Center! I think he should be fired. He is one BIG jerk

Dr Mazin has treated me for sciatica spine injections twice and now getting gel injections in my knee. After several visits to his office I have found him sometimes very friendly other times reserved and not much talking. As a logical person, I think the days he's not talking much would be days he's on overload of patients and the pressure gets to him. He's never been rude, just does what I'm there for and on to next patient. I've heard UMass pushes doctors to short visits, stressing docs out.

He did an MRI on my back. Then he sent me to a physical therapist. That physical therapist said that he was not comfortable doing anything with me because I was in too much pain. He faxed this report to Mazine. Mr. Mazine signed it. When I went to Worcester to see Mr, Mazin I asked him what the results of my visit to physical therapy were. He told me he did not know He said he did not read it. As a result I fired him and told him I do not trust you are a competent spine Dr.I do not recommend him

I have chronic neck and back pain. Dr.Mazin examined me and then told me that you need to do 6 weeks of PT in order to get an MRI to find out exactly what is wrong with me. I felt like he had better things to do than help me manage my neck/back pain. What got me the most is when he left the room, I was in a johnnie and he left the door wide opened. Very very rude and not courteous at all.

I went to Dr Mazin to get my second sacroiliac joint hip injection. The first time I went to his office he did my shot and I felt better for two months, but then the second visit he asked me if the shot he did before had helped me and I said yes. He then proceeded to tell me well I can't do it for you today and left the room without any explanation. I felt sad, had a panic attack, and will never go back to him again. I have the worst hip pain and I will never recommend him. It was terrible.
