Doctor Millett is the most thorough and caring doctor I could have asked for. He asks questions and takes his time every single visit I have. I have been seeing him for 2.5 years now and he still listens and is determined to help me conquer my epilepsy and autoimmune condition. When I first came to HOAG, I was a new patient who had a completely random seizure out of nowhere. The doctor I saw in the ER simply just diagnosed me with epilepsy. Doctor Millett would NOT stop there. He ordered test after test and was able to diagnose me with autoimmune encephalitis. Even after years, he still plays a big role in my care and makes me feel important and valued. And to top it all off, he is an absolute sweetheart. I would recommend Doctor Millett to everyone and anyone I know. Amazing doctor and human being.

The Neurologist who finally cured me of epilepsy
I had epilepsy for 14 years before I met Millett through a business partner of mine. I had been to 4 different neurologist over the years who just were medicine pushers and none tried to find the root cause. He read my EEG studies from all my previous doctors and found that they had diagnosed me incorrectly and I was a candidate for brain surgery after all. After having multiple brain surgeries (which went very well and were performed by the BEST brain surgeons on the West Coast of the US) and switching my medicine, I am finally without seizures (which I used to have almost daily). He has been a blessing in my life and I highly recommend him to all those suffering with epilepsy.

He's a GREAT neurologist!
Dr. Millett has been my neurologist since 2004. I have partial complex, fronto temporal seizures, and am well controlled with a VNS and oral meds. He's compassionate, friendly, listens, is responsive....what else would you possibly want in a doctor. I've spent my life in healthcare, both in teaching hospitals and community settings, and have dealt with 100s of physicians, I have no hesitation in giving him a 5 star recommendation.

In 2018 I stayed at Hoag Hospitals Epilepsy Monitoring Unit for four days. At the time, Dr. Millett oversaw the unit. My Neurologist had sent me there because I was experiencing vertigo and she wanted to have me observed to determine if the vertigo was a seizure of some sort. Dr. Millett made it very clear to me when I arrived that he didn't think this was necessary. Every day he would tell me that if I didn't have a vertigo episode soon, I'd have to go home. I almost felt pressure. Finally on Thursday I morning I was discharged, i had barely been there a little over 3 days. Millett has zero bedside manors. I felt like he was pushing me out before I was ready. Incidentally, they also switched my meds for the first time in 25 years..for me that was risky because I hadn't a seizure in 25 years.

This is my third appointment & I have received exceptional care. He is very knowledgeable with the types of medications prescribed to epileptics. He was not surprised by the adverse symptoms I experienced & changed my medication. His experience is like night & day compared to the three previous neurologists I've seen. It may be because he has had additional training for epilepsy, others did not have. The nurse practitioner, Suzanne, is amazing. His staff is always been respectful & friendly.
