Dr. David Opperman, MD

From the first visit to the surgery room he was a class act. He assured me that he could take care of my issues and did exactly that. His bed side manner is the best and his sense of humor was hysterical. I needed this type of doc after coming out of a surgery that didn't go well with another doc. He made me feel comfortable from day one, he was never in a hurry, and he made sure we knew what our next steps were at every junction.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better surgeon of his specialty anywhere in the world! I had unsuccessful surgery at UCLA to my vocal cord. Dr. Opperman corrected it, and rebuilt one of the vocal cords. Now I can sing again. Truly a miracle. No other surgeon in the world could have done better. Not UCLA Medical Center, Mayo Clinic, John Hopkins, or Cleveland Clinic. Denver has the Gold Standard right here. He is an expert surgeon with a magic touch. He treats you with compassion. His caring spirit for you is genuine. You feel it! I write this as someone with a critical eye for perfection and years of experience in Critical Care and Periop. I have unconditional trust with Dr. Opperman. My appreciation and gratitude is beyond words. Thank you, Dr. Opperman. I can sing!

My husband is a patient of Dr. Opperman. He has been struggling with voice issues for 3 years now. After multiple doctors yielding basically no help or answers, we finally found Dr. Opperman. The experience has been life changing for my husband. Dr. Opperman cares and has given us hope when we felt all hope was lost. I can't say enough good things about him. Dr. Opperman performed 2 surgeries, rhinoplasty and reconstruction of a broken nose, all within a 2 week period. Both were extremely successful. I no longer have the dreadful nasal drip and nasal infections resulting from the discharge, but also breathe much better. He also did a remarkable job on my nose. I've been consistently happy with Dr. Opperman as an ENT Specialist. I went in to him after constant issues with Nasal Polyps, a Deviated Septum, and Turbinate issues. He explained exactly what was going on, what he'd like to do in order to remedy the issue surgically, and explained the post op recovery process. Because I was having so many issues, I decided to go ahead and get the surgery, and I cannot speak highly enough about the process. It completely changed my life. Before I was constantly sick with sinus infections, having morning sickness because of how much post-nasal dripping I would experience at night. Ever since the surgery, I haven't been sick once, and all morning sickness went away. I now can breathe easily out of both of my nostrils, and am feeling much healthier. I cannot recommend Dr. Opperman enough, he has been amazing throughout the entire process. If you're looking for an ENT in the Denver Metro Area, Dr. Opperman should be your FIRST choice.

During his treatment of my vocal cord issue he ordered a CT scan of my neck area. It was on this CT scan that an incurable lung disease was found. Dr. Opperman saved my life in early 2015. I was having extreme difficulty breathing after a stressful time in my life. I went to several doctors until I was referred to Dr. Opperman. He diagnosed me right away and confirmed it with a scope and video of my Trachea, which had almost completely scarred shut. He dropped everything and had me in emergency surgery the next morning. He completely reopened my trachea and has been there for me every time it recurs. I would give him an A+ for knowledge, capability and care of his patients. He is truly remarkable!

Doctors can save lives, but Dr. David Opperman of The Colorado Voice Clinic literally "GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK!" For two years I suffered with a paralyzed vocal cord of unknown etiology & I had no voice. Despite treatment by one of the top 4 laryngologists in the US & a 2nd opinion in the Chicago area, nothing could be done to help me. Thankfully, for other reasons we moved to the Denver area & discovered Dr. O. He examined me & assured me that he could perform a 45-minute/outpatient surgery on me that would restore my voice, help my breathing, & protect my swallow. INDEED HE DID JUST THAT! Within minutes of surgery, I had my voice back & could breathe so much better. Dr. O has a wonderful bedside manner, is a super talented & gifted surgeon, & literally gave me my life back. Having a voice lifted my depression & now I can fully participate in life again. Also, he has a wonderfully kind & highly competent staff. I will be in grateful thanks to him & his group forever!

I went to doctors for 15 months, including NJH and diagnosis and treatment did nothing. I was referred to Dr. Opperman by my pulmonologist. After listening to my history and symptoms, Dr Opperman diagnosed the problem right away and then verified it with a scope. With his treament an working with Excetional Speech, I breath much better, my speech and pitch has improved dramatically and the strain on my bronchial and trachea is no longer evident. I would and have already highly recommended Dr. Opperman. He takes time to explain everything. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Teresa at the front desk is amazing. She is organized, on top of ensuring that they accept your insurance, and very nice. Unfortunately, the outcome of my treatment was not to my satisfaction. I had vocal fold surgery 9 months ago and still cannot speak or work at the level I'd like to without pain. I have seen Kathe at the clinic for vocal therapy following my surgery, but I still experience pain when speaking for more than a couple hours. Colorado Voice Clinic hasn't been able to pinpoint why. I have spent thousands of dollars seeing a variety of therapists to try to address the pain from talking and still can only work at about 2/3 - 3/4 of the level I was working prior to surgery. Although I can't be certain that my outcome would have been different elsewhere, I'm disappointed in my experience and uncertain if I will ever be able to speak as I'd like without discomfort.

Dr. Opperman has helped me so much. I'm not 100% but I'm far better than I've been able to get under anyone else's care. He is very courteous, understanding and extremely knowledgeable. I firmly believe he's the best voice doctor in a multi-state area. I have been treated by many, many other doctors, holistic specialists--you name it I've tried it. His staff is also very courteous and everyone is respectful of my time--I never have to wait more than a minute. I'd highly recommend Dr. O.

There are hardly words for how grateful we are to Dr. Opperman and his team! Our daughter crushed her larynx in a trampoline accident and Dr. Opperman was her surgeon. He repaired her larynx with lots of pins and screws and made it possible for her to breath more comfortably. Her voice is still somewhat raspy but we consider his work to be a miracle. She lives a normal life with only that minor long-term complication. Thank God we found him... he has been a blessing to our family!

I met Dr. Opperman in February 2018 after working with other ENTs for 5 months could not provide a diagnosis.He spent almost an hour with me on my first visit and was able to diagnose my problem and prescribe treatment. Dr. Opperman's words that "we can fix this" meant the world to me. I knew I wouldn't be speechless forever! After two months of physical therapy and a new home regimen, I was able to talk and sing again! Dr. Opperman became a superhero in my book!

To begin with, the office is very clean and modern. Nice and welcoming environment. Checking in was easy the woman at the front desk was very friendly and was very helpful when I had questions about the forms. Dr. Opperman is very knowledgable and kind he doesn't throw medical jargon your way and is very easy to understand. Overall the appointment was very smooth and efficient.

Dr Opperman is awesome! He literally gave me my voice back. He is a talented surgeon and I feel so fortunate to have found him.

I can recommend Dr Opperman with no reservations!! He and his staff are totally awesome and always go above and beyond to make sure their patients achieve only the best results. I have complete trust and faith in him and his skills.

Not a great experience. Dr. Opperman was very rude and didn't seem to know what he was talking about. Him and his assistant were telling me different things and were not on the same page at all. The front desk worker was rude as well and didn't seem to care that I was waiting 40 minutes past my scheduled appointment. Would not recommend.

Dr. Opperman is excellent. I have not been able to smell anything for 14 years and now can smell, taste and breath! I had nasal polyps removed by another ENT 12 years ago and my sense of smell did not return. This time it did within 24 hours of surgery. The recovery has been painless. He is very thorough, communicates very clearly, and now has me on the best regime to keep the polyps from returning. Thank you VERY MUCH Dr. Opperman!
