His team spent an hour with me during my first consultation visit and walked me through the specifics of what my surgery would entail. Karina, Kristen, Marsha, and the research assistants are all amazing and made my pre and post surgery visits a pleasure and stress free. Dr. Otterburn came to see me prior to my surgery, as well as before I went home the next day, which was extremely comforting. My husband and I feel incredibly grateful I am in Dr. Otterburn’s care and couldn’t ask for anything more during an uneasy period in my life.

Excellent. Dr. Otterburn and his team were professional and attentive. Dr. Otterburn closed my lumbar fusion on 2 levels and the appearance is as of a tight approximation that would probably be possible leading me to believe that internally the support of the muscle flap to the area will add to the overall chances of long term success of my surgery. He and his staff answered all of my questions and offered post op care tips as well. I would highly recommend him without reservation.

After finding out I have the genetic mutation, ATM, I decided to meet with Dr Simmons and Dr Otterburn about a preventative mastectomy. Due to the size and density of my breast Dr. Outterburn recommended a breast reduction and lift. I recently had the first surgery and couldn’t be happier. The surgery was seamless and he explained to procedure answered all my questions. He came to recovery and checked on my before I left to return home. My recovery was smooth and his team checked in during the week. My post op visits went well. Dr. Otterburn’s work was meticulous. My scarring is healing well. My next surgery is in December and I know I am with to the best surgeons.

Dr Otterburn closed my wound during my neck fusion and met with me post-surgery. I found him to be extremely skilled, kind and articulate. His assistant Kristina was also caring and attentive. Best of care! Highly recommend Dr O and his team.

I am a little over two weeks post DIEP Flap reconstruction. Dr. Otterburn is a talented surgeon and a compassionate human being. I am very happy with my results, recovery and look forward to a few months from now when I am done recuperating. I will say, second only to his skills, it was important for me to be heard. Dr Otterburn heard me. Anesthesia team heard me. The staff at WCMC was wonderful, from pre-op to OR, to recovery, to the step down unit. I have five daughters who all now have their surgeon should they need. Highly recommend Dr. Otterburn and WCMC.

Dr. Otterburn was recommended to me by a friend who had gone through what I’m going through now- reconstruction after a double mastectomy. He took the time to explain the treatment plan options, ensured I understood the benefits and risks of each. He also mentioned something another plastic surgeon did not which would be a big difference in outcome had I not known about it. Dr. Otterburn offered me the best experience in treating my breast reconstruction. He is very thorough in discussing all options, listens and answered all my questions. He and his Terrific Team were extremely caring before, during and after my surgery. It was a joy to meet a number of times for my follow-up as I am still on a healing journey to receive an implant. He is well respected and admired by all his colleagues with a great professional personality! I always left our visits feeling great.

5 stars all the way! Dr. Otterburn performed my breast reconstruction post-mastectomy and exceeded all expectations. At the outset he said his job was to make me forget what happened to me, and he definitely delivered. My reconstructed breast looks 100% natural with no visible sign of an implant under my skin. When I had a minor challenge with the tissue expander, he acted quickly to accelerate my final surgery to address any risk and address my discomfort. I sensed he was a perfectionist at my initial consult and am so glad I put myself in his hands because the resultstruly speak for themselves. And on top of it all, he has a wonderful way about him and great bedside manner. Thank you Dr. Otterburn!
