Totally incompetent
Dr. Palowski is NEVER available and does not calls back. He is perhaps the most useless family physician in western New York.

Ethics?
I have been a patient for over ten years. Seen him four times no longer than ten minutes. He had prescribed a medication and gave the wrong instructions on the patient portal and pharmacy. When I had a bad reaction it took four days to respond. Now instead of an apology he has made every attempt to avoid responding. Still has not approved refills after staff said they would. I told him I recently lost my son and wasn’t feeling well. Now I see what a shallow human he is to intentionally make a patient’s life harder because he can and like’s it. I made copies of all transactions and recorded phone calls with staff. He has deleted my patient portal in attempt to hide his mistakes. Facts and my opinion are true. This man should not be a doctor. I truly hope his actions won’t cause a death.

Before you read this review, scroll down and notice the only reviews people wrote anything at all about are the 1 stars. Makes you wonder where the five stars came from. Been going there for ten years. Saw the Dr. exactly one time. He’s listed as my primary care physician. For the most part, this place is fine for a cattle call. They rush you through, phone in meds, and pass you off to a specialist at their first convenience. I’ve tried discussing my medical history because a lot of it predates the internet, and my concerns are only ever addressed if it fits the appointment slot. This review could use up the full page, or I could just say the place does not always meet what a “Family Practice” would lead you to believe. I used to know my doctor and he knew my medical history without a tablet and five assistants to do his work. This is not that.

Pawlowski refuses to speak with patients over the phone. It is hard to schedule appointments with him and even when you have an appointment it is extremely rushed. He is the type of doctor that will not even recognize you after being a patient of his for 13 years who only books appointments with him. My last appointment he based my entire exam after blood work from 6 months ago instead of giving me my results from the blood test i took a week before my appointment so the nurse had to call me a month after that appointment to give me my real results (not sure why it took an entire month). The nurses at the practice are nice but if you need anything done urgently then good luck because nobody is reliable. I sometimes have to call 2-3 times to refill a prescription due to them forgetting to send it to the pharmacy. Highgate is just a money grab they don't actually care about the patient and have to many patients to actually provide adequate attention to each one.

Spent my annual checkup doing an interview --- can you climb stairs, do you have someone you live with and inane questions like that --- that took most of my "allotted" 12 minutes. He never laid a hand on me although I do have type I diabetes, hypertension, high serum cholesterol and a few other problems which he never asked about. He left the room and never came back -- a lady came in (PA, NP, other???) said to pick up my prescriptions at the desk and left. They had changed the dose on one on my meds and within days I was having a serious problem and had to change the dose of one med --- no consultation. The doctor is charming but it would be good if he actually examined me! WILL FIND A NEW DOCTOR! I've been a Highgate patient for over 25 years and this new (to me) person is not for me. I'm looking for a new primary care physician!
