Not Empathetic
At 9:30 pm I went to the ER with symptoms suggesting a bowel obstruction. I had these same symptoms a few years ago and almost died from a bowel obstruction. I was very concerned that this was a repeat! After several tests, it was determined that I had " a touch of the stomach flu". I felt that I wasn't getting across the fear I had of repeating my previous situation, and was being over reactive. Dr Romans didn't even introduce himself, I had to ask him who he was. At 12:30 am he sent me home. Apparently he didn't realized the state of anxiety I was in. And slightly disoriented and extremely tired. Now, I am 71 yrs old, and he sent me home in a snowstorm on a Sunday night (Monday AM) in that less than stellar state of mind. On the way home, 7 miles, I slid off the road, had to call 911 all by myself, in a snowstorm. A tow truck had to come and pull my car out of the ditch, while I waited in a police car. So traumatizing!! The "stomach flu" was a horrible virus that took 21/2 weeks.

Dr. Romans is an exceptional doctor who is very compassionate and kind. He takes the time to explain your illness in understandable terms. He also takes time to explain medications so you know what they will do for you. We felt a great amount of trust in him. My husband and I were extremely impressed and think he is one of the best doctors we have ever encountered!
