Dr. David Roque, MD

This is my first time rating a physician, but I feel compelled to do so after my experience. He didn't want to hear about my previous experiences being in areas similar to the place I was travelling. This bothered me, but it's only become an actual medical issue now that I'm experiencing serious side effects for an unnecessary drug he prescribed (another doctor's words, not mine). He also hung up on me instead of submitting my claim to my insurance company because he already got money from me.

I just wrapped up my annual checkup with Dr. Roque. Every time I visit the office, I'm always amazed at how much I learn about dieting and physical health as a whole. As an added bonus, Dr. Roque is a good conversationalist. Overall, I went with the better insurance plan just so I can keep seeing Dr. Roque. That speaks volumes about the type of professional that he is.

I needed a Yellow Fever Vaccine prior to my trip to Nigeria. Dr. David Roque was the only one who offered the lowest price for YFV. I called at 5:45PM and they were closing by 6 but he patiently waited for me until 7PM. My flight is at 9PM. He was very accomodating.If not for him, I wouldn't gotten the Yellow Fever Vaccine that I needed for my trip.

I went to dr. Roque for a Travel consult prior to my year long journey around the world. His prices for travel immunizations were the lowest in the area; my insurance did not cover any of these. He spent at least an hour with me going thru the different risks I have. The best thing is when he told me if I needed help anywhere in the world I can call him anytime of the day ! Who does that !! 3 mos into my trip I got sick and I called him and he answered himself at 2 am Chicago time.

I was skeptical initially with my first visit with Dr. Roque. But then as I know him more with subsequent visit I found out that he is genuinely concern about my health and wanted nothing but the best for me. I don't get easily impressed but by my 4th visit with Dr. Roque I was convinced that he was great at what he does. He is an excellent physician with the highest bedside manner and very knowledgeable . You can always call him at any time of the day and he would pick up the call personally.

My work has to send me to Nigeria with a short notice. 4 hours prior to my flight so I scrambled to find a Travel clinic that can give me the required yellow fever vaccine. after calling at least 5 places - all of which cannot accommodate me on the same day and none of them takes insurance card. I finally reached out to International Society of Travel Medicine and was given a referral to Dr. Roque. He personally answered my call and even waited for me past his closing time of 6 pm . !!

I desperately was looking for a civil surgeon to do my immigration exam as soon as possible and after calling at least 10 places it was only Dr Roque who was able to accommodate me the same day. I couldn't believe how low the price was and how fast the turn around was. Thanks to Dr Roque I was able to get my green card without any problems.

I went in for travel consults and left with more than vaccinations I needed for my trip. He was very thorough in discussing the risk I have for my destinations. He is also addressed all my current conditions that can cause problem with my trip. I recommended him to most of my friends who are coming with me in this trip.

Truly terrifying experience as my wife had to have some basic blood work done and instead of drawing blood from her arm, he attempted to draw it from her neck, from the jugular vein, a very dangerous move mostly performed in emergency rooms when blood can not be drawn in any other way. After my wife objected, blood was drawn from her hand after all. Avoid this office at all costs and make a complaint with Illinois Medical Board if you have had similar experience at this office.

The doctor was rude and impatient when I asked questions regarding vaccines. He was extremely condescending. I repeatedly said i don't have a medical background and my mothers health is in poor condition but he didn't seem to care. I'm very disappointed and emotionally hurt by all this nonsense.
