Dr. David Scott, MD

I had planned surgery at St. Vincent Carmel for bilateral inguinal hernias. This is only the second surgery I’ve had in my life (first was appendix), and I was anxious about the whole thing. Dr. Scott was the preferred anesthesiologist of my surgeon, Dr Szotek, however the surgeon doesn’t get to chose the anesthesiologist assigned to a surgery. I met Dr. Scott in pre-op, where he patiently reviewed what he would do to put me to sleep, to manage pain post-op, and prevent me from being nauseated. Post surgery, I wasn’t too groggy, and wasn’t in extreme pain (I managed pain with OTC meds). I was thankful for Dr. Scott’s patient and thorough manner in preparation for my surgery and for keeping me safe throughout. Your anesthesiologist matters!
