Dr. David Tamura, MD

This man does not listen well. He made a bunch of assumptions based on a few sentences which led him to leave the room one minute after we saw him. He left several times after just a minute or two in the room. He acted like he was going to look up something but when he came back 10 minutes later he was still very confused. He seemed distracted. He spent more time out of the room than in the room. When he left the third time I had to go track him down because by now we had been waiting for an hour. He returned with a nurse who listened and then answered the questions and resolved the issues. Not sure what was going on but this is not a good oncology doctor. He does not inspire confidence, he seemed discombobulated and that is seriously the word that best describes my interaction with him. Full disclosure, I’m not the patient. I come with my friend who needs assistance. Just warning anyone looking for an oncologist.

This Doctor may have the credentials, but lacking in people skills. He does not spend more than 5 minutes with you, yet you get billed for the entire 20-25 minutes. With every visit, there is no real explanation of anything, regarding your condition, treatment or test results. These are cancer patients, not cows with tags on their ears being herded through...You always feel rushed and that you need to throw out any questions before he reaches for the exit. Sometimes, he will mumble to himself as he leaves and you are left wondering if the visit is finished or not. He seems to exude no apparent sympathy or concern for his patients. Not sure if he is too busy with an overwhelming amount of patients or that is how he truly is as a person.
